Before I started writing a book, I thought I could "make" the characters do what I wanted. As I am the orchestrator of events, it is true to some extent, but I am continually amazed at how often the events seem to just happen as I am writing and sometimes the characters don't do what I thought I wanted them to do. I always hope it works out for the best!
