What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Leigh Michaels Stick to it, as long as you're having fun. In the classes I teach, I see lots of people with talent, but most of them don't make it to the finish line because they get discouraged or don't devote the time it takes to learn and practice their craft. The first book usually isn't strong enough -- it's a learning experience. But a lot of people give up if the first book doesn't go smoothly or isn't well-received.
