Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Eddie Pittman I was inspired by the work of John Scalzi 's Old Man's War series and Mass Effect (the original trilogy)! It started when my partner introduced me to Mass Effect which then spurred me into reading a lot of science fiction. I have always had a joy for writing and science fiction, and after dipping my toe into reading it, I knew I had to write a story. Most space operas that are somewhat contemporary that I have read do not have queer primary characters, so I wanted to do that (there are of course many exceptions).
