Goodreads asked Megan Hamilton:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Megan Hamilton Write. Write. Write. Every second of every day. Rainer Maria Rilke said in Letters to a Young Poet that if when you wake up in the morning, you can think of nothing but writing you are a writer. (Yes, that is from Sister Act - yes I watch Sister Act) You will write garbage. You will write bad poetry and awful prose. Learn from it. You will write some of the most beautiful words you have ever seen and you will lose that poem because you put it in your pocket and then ran your pants through the washer. Don't give up.
