A Goodreads user asked Laurie A. Green:

How did you come up with the title for your Science Fiction Romance series, THE INHERITED STARS?

Laurie A. Green Hi Heidi. Thanks for your question! I'll try to give you the "spoiler free" version.

The series was originally titled The Draxian Universe series, but I later decided on The Inherited Stars Series because I thought it might hold more meaning for readers once the overall premise starts to unfold--a saga about discovery, exploration and ancient secrets.

Although the series title is very close to the title of book 1--Inherit the Stars--the meaning behind it is different. (The Inherit the Stars title came directly from a line of dialogue in that novel.)

Here's an overview of the series:

The year is 3500 AD—more or less. No one really keeps track anymore. Since the fall of peacekeeper planet, LaGuardia, two centuries before, much has been lost. Few remember that LaGuardia was once known as Draxis. Fewer still have knowledge that Draxis once guarded a spatial vortex—a crossrip in time and space—and passageway to a legendary world called Earth where the human species originated. Somewhere, hidden in a forgotten archive, is the written history of the Draxian Universe and the chronicles of the men and women who helped forge a future in the stars.

Thanks for your interest in my work! :)
