Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Val Silver The idea and inspiration for Rescue Me came when I was looking at all the beautiful, sad, longing looks in the faces of the dogs on petfinder. I had just lost my precious French bulldog, Louis, and although I didn't want another dog yet, I couldn't stop myself from looking. I became aware of how many thousands of dogs were waiting for their chance for forever homes, and how desperate many shelters and rescues were for funds. I wanted to do something to help. Finally, the idea for a fundraising book about how we rescue each other came to me and I decided to turn that idea into a reality so the book would raise money and awareness about homeless dogs.
