Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Derek Johnston When a friend introduced me to the 1970s BBC productions known as the 'Ghost Story for Christmas', and I wondered why the idea of a Christmas ghost story seemed perfectly sensible. Especially when I thought about US series that were normally non-supernatural but which included episodes with supernatural elements, episodes which usually turned out to be Halloween episodes. So why the difference? Exploring the history was fascinating, and I wanted to present my findings and interpretations to other people, to see what they made of them and where they could expand the ideas further.
