In the Finishing School series, Sophronia mentions a couple of times that something bad happened to the telegraph. What exactly happened? I don't recall its being mentioned at all in the Protectorate or Custard books. (I'm currently in book 3 of the Finishing School series; completed the others.)

Gail Carriger It's in the Protectorate series. Wireless conflicts with aetheric particles. No radio either, and eventually, not TV.
