Hey Justin.... I'm asking this question of several writers (some friends, some strangers).... Does small-talk come easily for you? If so, do you think the ability to fill silence in conversation informs your writing at all? If not, do you think being averse to small-talk has anything to do with your taking to the page?

I'm completely awful at small talk and am not the most social person. I do listen to other people and engage them in ways that inform my writing. My aversion to small talk is more of a social anxiety issue and the fact that I tend to be a stream of consciousness thinker and that doesn't translate well to "normal" conversation skills.
