Goodreads asked Diana Paz:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Diana Paz If it's just a mild, off-day kind of thing, I can usually snap out of it by re-reading things I had already written. That helps me reconnect with my characters and my story.

If I find myself *really* stuck, I write my characters into a ridiculous or impossible situation, and keep writing a scene that will never be used. Like, aliens landed and one of my characters is abducted. How does she react? What kind of world do they take her to? Of course, the scene isn't included in any book, but I still gain insight into who my character is, and often my brain will want to return to the actual story. Writing itself is the cure, for me.
