Goodreads asked Holli True:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Holli True I know when I was aspiring to complete my first novel, I kept receiving the same advice- "Finish your book." "Just write your novel." "Complete it!"

But that didn't really help me, because I WANTED to finish it- that was my goal all along. The advice I was looking for was HOW I could finish it.

When I started writing Reckless, I turned to my hubby and my good friend, Marissa, and spilled my guts on the idea I had. They talked it out with me, helped me grow my story and continued to support me throughout the entire process. When I had an idea that I was unsure about, a plot twist that overwhelmed me, or just needed someone to cheer me on, I turned to them.

So, my advice to aspiring writers- surround yourself by positive people who will continually push, inspire and motivate you to see it through. Writing a novel is hard and an absolute labor of love, so the best thing you can do is surround yourself with positivity and encouragement!
