Great question Leslie. Actually, the story idea inspired me first. I didn't have a particular genre in mind at the time the story idea came to me, not even when I was working on the outline. After I finished the first draft, I started thinking about what genre it would "fit" in best. For me, it was a story that I wanted to tell but for marketing purposes, it needed to be labeled and filed in a genre. Personally, I like reading books with a strong psychological component. That, along with my curious interest in the unknown, probably had some influence in writing "A Miracle's Path".
