Some people believe that writers seek out certain experiences just to write about them. But what about the rest of us who choose to write about experiences just to live through them? Being a writer gives me license to live a kind of life that would otherwise close itself off to me. I take adventures I would not normally take. I meet people I would not meet in normal circumstances. Being a writer upends my idea of 'normal.'
