Goodreads asked Erica Lynn:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Erica Lynn 1. I read somewhere (I wish I could remember where) and this man said that when he is stuck, he jumps to a scene he knows he wants to write and does it. It doesn't matter if he's at the beginning, he'll skip to a scene in the middle and attack it. Then it's a matter of filling in the rest. That has been a big help to me.
2. If that doesn't work, just walk away. It's frustrating to have all this energy and desire to tell the story you see in your head, but sometimes it just doesn't flow from your mind to the screen. That's fine. Walk away, give it a day or two. Heck, I've taken three or four days when necessary. Then you come back, and I promise, nine times out of ten you're refreshed, the cobwebs are gone, and you can't type fast enough! =)
