Wow! Thanks for answering, never happened before :P I usually don't read notifications so I missed it, sorry. You certainly have talent and imagination. I'll gladly read any other genre written by you but "The Library at Mount Char " is awesome and I hope there will be a sequel. Maybe time travel /alternate world history through library? :)

Hey Christopher,
No prob. To be honest, I'm still sorting the notifications out myself.
Odd you should mention time travel--the end of Mount Char originally had a much bigger time travel element, but everybody hated it. (The whole thing about 'the past kneels before me'). The problem is where do you stop? If you can go back and fix everything bad that happened it undoes the stakes of the story.
But, you know, never say never. :-)
The working title on the new one is And Then The Hunt. It's about a fugitive murderer who gets hired by an evil pretzel billionaire to investigate a school shooting. Weirdness ensues. It's slightly more science-fictiony than Mount Char, at least in the sense that there's more technobabble. That said, I still expect a healthy crop of reviews that start out "WTF did I just read?"

Hi Mr Hawkins! Any idea if your book will be translated in French? I work as a librarian and I recommended your book to a patron who, sadly, can't read english. I was wondering if in the near future I'll be able to acquire a french version for my public library? Thank you!

I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed Mount Char. I've been shuffling around in an existential fog for a coupla hours since finishing it...thanks for that! Curious to know the inspiration for planes of reality being rooted in emotion (i.e. plane of anguish) when most other fantastical happenings are explained rather scientifically by Carolyn?
