Goodreads asked Anna Alexander:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Anna Alexander As president of my local Romance Writers of America chapter, I get asked this question a lot. My advice is to figure out from the start if you want to be a writer or a published author. There is a difference. One is not better than the other as long as you understand the difference and are happy with your choice. If you choose to be a published author, I suggest to gain as much knowledge as possible. Craft, marketing, social media. The industry changes daily, and you can never have too much knowledge. My last piece of advice is to keep writing, and make it fun. It's a passion not a chore.
