Goodreads asked Peggy Frazier Doviak:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Peggy Frazier Doviak Although I'm not always successful, I try to view writing as a "job," just like my other career as a financial planner. I think the biggest mistake new writers make is waiting to be inspired. Hemingway wrote 500 words before breakfast every day. He also wrote before he started drinking for the day, which was, coincidentally, breakfast! I try to write 250 words when I sit down to write. The more I write, the easier it becomes to increase that number to 500. Even if I know the writing is bad while I'm writing it, I keep going. The discipline of writing regularly overcomes writer's block most of the time.
