“Either religious values are the highest—because they are experienced in God, the source of all goodness, beauty, and truth—or they are superfluous projections of our subconscious.9 If we insist on the independent sphere of religion and of the values of the Holy, not by invoking Bible verses but by invoking reason, we can save our belief from being abused. Then society will take us more seriously, because we are not claiming to be the icing on the cake but rather people with a message that will transform the world.”
