John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Introduce yourselves here. Oh. Well, I'm a 13-year old sadistic maniac who lives in a top-secret asylum on an island off the coast of Georgia. I enjoy books(duh), giraffes, and My Little Ponies, and loathe butternut squash.

So, what do you like? I am a fan of Physics.

message 10: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
No, just in general. Have you heard about the recent findings with the Higgs particle?

message 11: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
No, just some people call it the God particle.

message 12: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Because it explains why subatomic particles have mass. It, itself, is a subatomic particle. All subatomic particles that interact with the Higgs field a lot, incuding the Higgs particle, get a lot of mass. If they interact a little, the get a little bit of mass. What happens if they don't interact?

message 13: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
North America.

message 14: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Hello. Now, if it doesn't interact, what happens?

message 15: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Sorry if I am being rude.

message 16: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Yep. You looked at my profile?
I am sure you are magnificent at science. Do you like music?

message 17: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
How does music work?

message 18: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
I mean, where does sound come from?

message 19: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Exactly. Have you ever heard of string theory?

message 20: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Hey! The hedgehogs made me do it!

message 21: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Based on strings on a guitar, what do you think it means?

message 22: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
No, imagine you haven't looked at Wikipedia. Guitar strings, what are they like?

message 23: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
What do they do?

message 24: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
So what do the strings from string theory do?

message 25: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Bye!
What would you have said if you hadn't looked a Wikipedia?

message 26: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments You guys are starting to scare me with all this intellectual genius-speak...

message 27: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
No one, me you, or Albert Einstein is a genius.
Exactly! Strings inside of subatomic particles vibrating in nine dimensions! You did that all on your own, you are good at science!

message 28: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Would you like to know why, John?

message 29: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Sure.

message 30: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Because we can keep on discovering, and we can keep on finding, and we can keep on making, but we will never know enough about this universe and possible others.

message 31: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Hmmm...

message 32: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Never know enough for our pleasure or for our survival?

message 33: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
What do you mean?

message 34: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Well, there are the people who constantly seek knowledge just because it's out there and because it pleases them to do so and there are those who seek the knowledge that is necessary and no more because they feel no need to.

message 35: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Ok, but when most people say genius they mean really-really factually smart, which I am not sure is real.

message 36: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Oh, it's real.

message 37: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
No one can be 'smart' they can just have an expanded view of the universe. No one knows enough to be smart.

message 38: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
This is fun.

message 39: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments You have a sick idea of fun, Professor.

message 40: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
What do you mean, and why do you call me Professor?

message 41: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
I mean, I do like it as a nickname.

message 42: by John (last edited Oct 05, 2012 03:56PM) (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Well, debates are cool, but this one is starting to give me a headache.
And I call you Professor because on your profile you said "Welcome to my class in weirdness", and that's why I called you that the first time, but now you've earned the name for sheer wit.

message 43: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Yes, except, in out standards, no.

message 44: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments **takes aspirin**

message 45: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
I have never had it.

message 46: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Knowing everything is impossible (does water sink or float?) but it is still possible to be a genius as far as intellect or amount of knowledge goes.

message 47: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Where?

message 48: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
But what I am saying is that you will never have enough knowledge to meet our expectations.

message 49: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Whose expectations?
