"I'm sure we will be," Jenna smiled. "There's no way they could turn us down after everything we're doing to get there."
"Maybe we'll be considered heroes, and get awards and such," Mina smiled at the not-so-possible possibility. It was a fun dream, but she also knew it wasn't a very likely or rational one either.
Lexi gave a small smile at Mina's words though she didn't see them as too likely. Welcomed yes. But heroes? No. Why would they be?
Jenna smiled, her eyes sparkling, as she thought of this. It wasn't plausible, but it sounded nice. "I wonder what kind of food they have there." She said dreamily.
((I don't know! XD I just go like MEH! But, nothing happens in mai brians. So, I'm all like MEH!))
"Cookies," Mina grinned, thinking of all the other baked goods. She could already practically smell them.
"Definitely pies," Mina smiled and nodded. "Apple and peach and blueberry and blackberry," she could go on and on but it was almost overwhelming, in a good way, thinking of everything.
Jenna was about to smile, but shivered in a suddenly. More than slightly alarmed, she looked up to see thick, charcoal gray clouds rolling over the sun. As if irritated, she shut her eyes for the briefest of moments with a sigh. She didn't need to point it out to the others, the wind was whipping violently, and the once smooth waves raged, rough and choppy."We have to raise the sails!" She had to yell to be heard over the winds. "And get below deck!" The sky opened up and pelted them with rain, sharp, stinging and cold.
((sorry guys! A couple weeks ago I wasn't on at all and must have missed this. ))"Are you sure raising the sails now is a good idea?" Lexi shouted back, the could get blown way off course. But the same could happen if they didn't. How she missed her powers......They would help here. She knew a couple storm spells...
"Yeah, we need to tie them up so we won't get blown away!" She shouted, gesturing wildly to the lowered sails, that were puffed out due to the strong wind. Very soon, they'd end up in the middle of nowhere. "They could rip, too!" They had to act quickly, before the storm took control of the ship.
(( Yeah! It's going to be so fun! I think they'll hit shore soon, after whatever it is they're facing, due to a time loop or something, so it shouldn't be too long now. ))
((Omg, I'm sososo sorry!!!))Noah heard the commotion and quickly ran to grab some of the ropes before the sails were torn from the boat. He couldn't do it by himself, so he held on as tightly as possible, waiting for help.
Mina scrambled down the mast and over to the sails. Her face showed fear, and no one would have guessed she was smiling only moments before. She wasn't the most knowledgeable in these types of things and looked at the others to see how they were going to tie them, that way she could copy their motions and be of some sort of help.
Lexi ran over to help Noah, again cursing her lack of magic right now. "What can I do?!" She shouted to be heard above the noisenof the storm as she grabbed onto the rope as well, pulling."
Pointing to a hook-like thing the ropes were supposed to be attached to in a windy situation, Noah said, handing two ropes to Lexi, "Tie these to that." He had to shout over the wind. "Leave a little slack though, if it's too tight, the wind will take the sail and the wood too."
(( It's fine Regan!! :) ))
Jenna watched as her friends scrambled down the lookout tower's ladders, going to help Noah. She made sure they didn't need help before returning to the telescope. She was the one with the least amount of physical strength, so she was useless down there. She pointed the lens towards the sea, scanning it for something that may have caused the sudden change in events, or something that may have planned it. She saw the same flash of silver as before; this time much more visible due to the dark waves, closer, and another one, off to the right. The way they moved reminded her of - "Serpents!" She gasped, abandoning her post and sliding down the ladder. Her hair was being whipped around violently, salt water spraying up as it hit the ship roughly. She ran to Noah. "Sea Serpents!" She screamed, urgently. "Sea Serpents are about to attack!"

(( What if Lexi finds out she can use her magic, but only for things that have to do with water as there is an overwhelming mass, and with the large amount of water, the magic could be stronger and less tiring than normal? And she and Mina can work together to protect the ship..? I don't know... Heh... ))
((Well just going off normal magi lore it's the running water that's preventing her magic from working. idk though. Maybe it's since it's such a life or death situation her fear/adrenaline pushes it enough for it to work some but I imagine it would be more tiring.)))
(( will reply to rping later. gtg to work but I just remembered storms can help enhance it according to one series. maybe the two counteract each other?))
Lexi rushed to tie down the ropes that Noah had handed her, completely soaked already by the rain that was pouring around them. Sea Serpents?! Could this get any worse? And she was pretty much useless. Suddenly she thought of something. The Storm! Maybe that could help! Sometimes witches helped use storms to help power powerful spells. She'd never really tried it before. But maybe even with the running water she'd be able to do something. she tried to think back. Had anyone ever mentioned how to channel the power for a spell?
Jenna gasped as lightning struck the boat with a loud clap, setting the lookout tower ablaze. "My telescope!" She moaned, but she forgot about it quickly, considering that in a few minutes, the whole ship would be on fire.

A ship may survive above these seas if protected by strong magic or... no other way, really.
