*You may have romance, but not TOO intimate.

*Don't Rp with your character until Approved.

*Invite people often and enjoy yourself!

Note: Rules may be subject to change

Out Of Character and In Character

1. No OOC in say
Anything typed in should always be In-Character. There are plenty of other threads for Out-of-Character messages. Even if it's something as innocent and simple as ((Whoops, typo)), you can just as easily put that in to speak to the people you are RPing with.

2. Keep OOC and IC Separate
Do not use OOC excuses to avoid IC repurcussions of your character's actions. Conversely, do not take IC action against somebody for something that was OOC, or vice versa. That evil villain who wants to kill your character is not also an evil player who hates you as a player. Don't hold grudges OOCly for things that happen in RP. If you are unhappy or unsure, send them a message to clarify things.

3. No power-emoting
Also referred to as "god-modding". This means dictating another character’s actions to them, or not leaving room for them to respond to a situation. An example would be an emote such as “Frilbo backstabs Brodo and pierces his heart.” The correct way of doing this would be phrasing it as “Frilbo attempts to backstab Brodo, trying to pierce his heart” or something similar which leaves room for the other player to react and respond how they choose. A couple of words can make all the difference. Power-emoting also includes actions which are totally unrealistic or unfeasible for your character to perform, such as parrying and dodging the blows of half a dozen swords from people attacking you simultaneously from every angle.

4. No meta-gaming
“Metagaming” is using knowledge of IC things you have as a player, but which your character does not, in roleplaying. The simplest example is your character referring to somebody by their name without having been told it previously.

5. IC Actions = IC Consequences
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Always be prepared to accept the logical consequences of your character's actions; if you attack and rob somebody, do not be surprised if they and their friends come after you with a vendetta, and do not take this personally.

6. Be Courteous To Each Other
We are all here for the same reason: to have fun RPing. Respect your fellow players, and respect their right to have fun. Always remember that there is a human being on the other side of the character or forum post, and treat them with dignity. If something they do annoys or agitates you, go take a break, calm down, sleep on it.

7. OOC Consent
Some players are sensitive or less accepting to some kinds of RP than others. Before you start any kind of complicated or extreme roleplaying which could seriously change or adversely affect another person's character, it should be talked over OOCly and agreed with the other player. Things like beating, torture, romance, serious wounds, and death are examples of such RP.

General

No godmodding. Godmodding is pretty much controlling other people's characters without their explicit permission. For example, I'm roleplaying with Mayari. Mayari's character is Jane, my character is Joe. (Note: This is not proper roleplay format, this is merely an example and should not be followed)

Joe: *tackles Jane and smacks her with a stuffed animal then stabs her*

This would be considered godmodding, as I did not allow Jane adequate time to put up a fight.

Don't kill other people's characters without permission. This is also out of courtesy. You don't just go on a homicidal rampage for no reason. It has to be related to plot, the creator of said character has to know about it, and it has to be explained.
Use good grammar. Typing liek dis can really get on people's nerves. Sure, maybe the occasional typo or Im due to phone/iPod usage is okay, as long as it doesn't take away from your post and make it difficult to read.

What the HeadMod says goes. The HM created this roleplay. (S)He has the plot in their head, they know how they want it, they pay attention to what does and does not go with that idea in his head. You may disagree with the HM, perhaps explain why and propose an alternative idea, but in the end, HM has the right to say no.
Don't leave them hanging. Were you supposed to post something just now? Or were you supposed to join a roleplay and they're waiting on you, but you're too busy or forgetful to join, or maybe you lost interest? CM the HM and explain yourself. It allows them to move on and keep the roleplay going.

No Mary Sues/Gary Stus. The definition of these two terms are pretty widely known, however Sues/Stus are ridiculously over/underpowered characters, that tend to dominate the role-play in one way or another. Not sure if your character is a Sue? If you're worried, one of the older members/admins/mod(s) will tell you. Not worried? We'll make sure you know your character is a Sue anyway.
