Of course, JK Rowling made up my childhood with Michael Morpurgo and Roald Dahl. For young adult fantasy, Kristin Cashore and Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. For contemporary Stephen Chobosky. For historical fiction, Michelle Moran and Lisa Klein. Erm...there's more but I can't recall atm.
