Nancy | 2838 comments We're now accepting nominations for January - February.

Please read the rules for nominating BEFORE you create your post!! And check our bookshelves to be sure you are not nominating something we have already read as a group!

Only ONE nomination per person.

Please be sure to post the title and author.

Authors may not nominate their own books.

Please add your selections here. Once we get a sufficient number of titles, I will start up a poll. Each person may choose one title.

Remember, the authors should be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered, or feature significant gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered characters in their work. Queer can be interpreted as broadly as we like.

Any genre (SF/fantasy, horror, romance, mystery), non-fiction, and classics are acceptable. Based on this criteria, we should have plenty of books to choose from. If you are nominating a title that is part of a series, please make sure to nominate the first book, unless we have already read it as a group.

The book discussion will start January 1 and continue through the end of February. This should give everyone sufficient time to obtain and read the book.

Nancy | 2838 comments Why have you changed your mind, Don? Did you read the book yet?

Nancy | 2838 comments I think it's more fun to nominate books I'd like to read, but you can do whatever you'd like.

A recent read works well for discussion, since the book is still fresh in your mind.

Sarah | 20 comments I'll nominate Caitlin Kiernan's The Drowning Girl. Fascinating treatment of a protagonist living with a mental health diagnosis, with a great trans supporting character.

Nancy | 2838 comments If a title is part of a series, you can't nominate the second book if we haven't read the first as a group.

I'm going to nominate Through the Valley of the Nest of Spiders again because I really want to discuss this with other and I need to reread it before I can do a review justice.

Oh, sorry.

Anita (anitatt) | 1 comments I nominate The Gay Icon Classics of the World As a straight girl with a gay best friend who is a writer. I felt this story came from the heart but don't take my word for it. I think it's great that these are 10 different stories from different cultures from around the World. This book got FANTASTIC reviews on Goodreads and other sites. Why I think this would be great is because each person will be able to pick a story as their favorite and discuss WHY it's their favorite. I already know my favorite!
