Dressing style: Even though most ordinary people can’t see him, he makes a point of being very fashionable—for his own sake, if nothing else. His clothes tend to be a bit flashy in fit and cut, maybe a little flamboyant for everyday wear. Depending on his mood, he wears men’s or women’s clothes. He loves white, reds, and pinks most of all, but he could be persuaded to wear other colors. He would be mortified if he had to wear any excessive amount of black, though. He has a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses he likes to wear occasionally. And he really has a thing for scarves. Personality: He’s a bit of a flirt, a tease, especially to his friends. He likes to badger them a bit, but not maliciously. Background: Cupid is actually the Greek god Eros, child of Aphrodite. He once worked from Olympus; he even had a wife and children there. But a few hundred years ago, it was decided that he could do his job better if he stayed in the mortal realm. So he was condemned to Earth, and although true love never really ends, they’ve both “moved on,” so to speak, due to the circumstances. Now, they're more of the kind of buddies they could always rely on. Since then, he’s sort of given up his full god-status (hence the changing of his name). Not that he doesn’t have power anymore; he just can’t quite call himself omnipotent or compare to the other gods.
Now he focuses all his time and energy on helping others fall in love…but that doesn’t mean he won’t get jealous from time to time. Most people can’t see him, but he uses that his advantage by subtly influencing them to find their soul mates. Sometimes, they’re a bit stubborn, though. He has the ability to make them see him if he wants (without his wings, of course), because he likes material things that others have, so he plays pretend like he’s one of them sometimes with an apartment and all his clothes and toys and such. Background: Lisette Cianna was born with a full set of adult-teeth. They are almost an unnaturally bright white. She starts to glow when she's angry, and her eyes turn a deep red. This freaked her family out, but they tried to ignore that fact. She, however, couldn't imagine what she would do if she ran away, so she decided it was a miserable life and home, or a free life with no home. However, when an earthquake shook her family's estate on the far, far outskirts of Paris, her family, all hiding in a bathroom except for her, was crushed. She had no choice now but to run away, bur luckily, she received a letter from the Academy. She decided better there than nowhere, so she traveled there the next day, or rather, set off. It was a long, difficult journey, though.

Background History: Magnus is said to be eight hundred years old. Previously, he had lived on a farm with his mother and stepfather where it is said that his parents had feared him, even as a young child.

It is revealed that his mother had an affair with a demon (who is left to be unspecified) and when she realized what Magnus was, had hung herself in their barn. It is said that his mother was half Dutch and half Idonesian (as stated in the short story "Magnus's Vow), which explains Magnus' Asian features. His "father" attempted to later drown him, but, instead, Magnus had burned him where he stood. He was then brought up by Churchmen and raised by the Silent Brothers of Madrid, Spain in the seventeenth century and received his name from them.

Cassandra Clare revealed on her Twitter that Magnus was born on what was once the Dutch East Indies. It isn't clear yet who his biological demon father is, though Camille Belcourt does state in City of Lost Souls that his father is a "Prince of Hell" and is implied to be a very high ranking demon. Whenever asked who his father is, Magnus always avoids the question or changes the subject. This leaving fans to debate just who his father is.
