Arena 4
Vanessa sprinted straight to the igloo, entering in the south entrance which was closest to her. She ran in and grabbed whatever she could which included a tent , a starter, two sleeping bags, a tarp, 3 sweaters, ten daggers and 2 bows with the quivers. She also grabbed a fishing rod a shovel, and a orange pack. She ran out, not seeing anyone but assumed they were taking other entrances and ran as far away as she could before hiding in the forest. Seth also ran to the South entrance and got there just as soon as Vanessa ran out. He would have gotten in first but he had gone around outside the cornucopia gathering water bottles until he had ten of them. He shoved the water bottles into two different orange bags and grabbed them both. He also grabbed a sword, a fishing rods, a ax, 3 vials of poison, a dagger, a sleeping bag, a bow and arrows, and then grabbed one last orange pack. He than ran outside and grabbed more of the stuff that was out there including the iodine, jerky, trail mix and two flashlights which he shoved into the third orange pack. He then ran off towards where Vanessa had gone. He ran following her trail in the snow.
Vanessa leaned against a tree, wondering what she should do. She could be easily followed because of her tracks in the snow. She had found it easier to stop and take the blades off of her shoes to run. She stuffed as much as she could into the orange packs she had grabbed. When she stopped she grabbed some snow off of the ground and popped it in her mouth. It melted so that she could get some water but it wasn't a lot. She then felt a hand on her shoulder which made her spin around. Seth was there behind the tree laughing.
"Don't do that!" She whispered harsly to him, "This is the Arena, there is no time for games!"
"OH lighten up and follow me Ness," Seth said, using his pet name for her before climbing a tree.
"What are we coming up here for?" She said, easily climbing the tree.
Seth started jumping from tree to tree, making the least amount of noise possible, "Well unless you want people following your tracks in the snow then start jumping."
Vanessa smiled and then started following him, both making no sound or being seen.
Raine was smart enough that if she went inside the igloo, she would be more likely to get killed in the first ten minutes of the games. When it was time for her to leave the platform she took off the skates and ran to the forest. She knew this year's arena had to be a cold and icy one. She knew how to hunt and get edible plants. If she could find the source of water then stay near there. She knew how to set up fires, kill animals, and make water drinkable. She didn't look back at the ones that thought going to the Cornucopia would be great, it happened every year. She also wouldn't ever kill a person unless they attacked her first. She found the water source, she didn't drink it yet. She needed to make a fire. Just a small one, not enough for the smoke to be seen, just enough to warm up herself and clean water. She started breaking branches and clearing a spot on the ground. Raine found two of the flint stones nearby. "I guess the Gamemakers were smart this year," she muttered. She broke the branches carefully and put a pile of the branches nearby. She scraped the stones against each other and caught the branches on fire. She wasn't even hungry or thirsty. She knew she could make it, well most of it.
His mentor told him to find water. His mentor told him to hide, to find a weapon in nature. His mentor told him to run straight away from the Cornucopia when the gong rang. But as Bray stared at the winter wonderland around him, the information was lost to him. When the loud sound of the gong echoed over the Arena, he froze. All around him kids were running. He started to run away from the center as he saw other kids were doing.
The poor little boy with the brain impediment truly did not know what was going on. He just ran with the swiftness that he did when he was running from bullies at school. He ran into the wooded area. He heard two voices laughing. His blue eye peeked from behind a tree, straight at the tributes.

Seth and Vanessa jumped through the trees, making there way along a stream that they had found. They continued until they saw a fire and a person near it. Seth searched him memory until he remembered that this was a tribute called Raine but couldn't remember what district she was from. He nodded his head to Vanesssa and she got the message. They both jumped down and walked towards Raine, a friendly smile on their faces. "Hello. I'm Seth and this is Vanessa. We are from District 11."
Ceale, district 3, glanced around as the game started. He remembered his sister for a breif flash and focused on the matter at hand. He ran to the igloo and got three backpacks, stuffing them at random. He then ran off to the trees, unnoticed. Nobody had seen him. Nobody had hurt him.
Kvinna felt knots in her stomach as she sprinted towards the Igloo, easily keeping up with the other tributes despite her "condition." As she entered the igloo, fighting to stay unnoticed, she snatched a bow, a quiver, two daggers, a pack, a tent, a shovel and a hatchet. With her arms bulging, she almost ran into Romeo, a friendly face, a face that seemed to tell her to meet up with him. She nodded frantically, scrambling north.
Romeo ran into Kvinna on his way into the igloo, smiling slighty at her as he threw his head north, indicating their sudden aliance. He hurried inside, glaring at some tributes hostily before snatching a fishing rod, grinning. Knives, five random food packs, two packs slumg expertly over a shoulder, an axe, a sword, iodine flask, three water bottles and a flashlight came with him, tucked into his florrescant sweater. He ran with Kvinna, catching up to her. He ganced around them to make sure they weren't pursued.

Raine looked up at the two friendly faces. They didn't seem to have any weapons, but yet if your stupid enough befriending other people isn't great. She didn't get along with people anyway. If Raine tried to befriend someone she could take some food, not a lot. She never became starved. In her mind, she smiled at this new plan of her's. Even if Seth and Vanessa were angry at her, they seemed nice enough to not go off in revenge. There's a chance she can survive a bit longer with them. When she knows she has done enough she will definitely leave. She put out her hand. "I'm Raine from District 6."
Seth smiled at her again before saying, "Nice to meet you. Mind if we stay for you awhile? Wont' hurt you...promise," he said the last part with his hands held up in the universal surrender gesture. Vanessa looked at the girl, not saying anything. She knew that their chances of an alliance were better if Seth did all of the talking. She then looked around as Seth continued talking, making sure no one was following them.
"Uh... sure." Raine didn't care as long as they didn't kill her or hurt her. They even got packs and other things from the Cornucopia. Raine wouldn't be able to get through there, maybe she would have. It's better to not take the risk in there anyway. She didn't care for the items outside either. Everyone who didn't want to be inside would obviously take the items on the outside. At least it didn't seem like no one had died. Maybe the Games will be a bit better than she had hoped. "If you can, try to find a way to sit," Raine said. She smiled just a bit, then made the smile fade away.
Seth smiled and went to Vanessa."What are you doing?" she asked.
"Do you trust me or not?" Seth responded.
"Sadly, yes," Was her reply.
"Oh be nice, I only want what you have in your bag." Seth said before grabbing the tarp from her.
He then spread it on the ground where he and Vanessa than sat.
Raine didn't sit on the tarp like the other two tributes, she sat against a tree. Raine looked around for some plants to make some soup from the snow on the ground. Some of the trees around her had edible leaves. If she asked for a pot or something to heat, maybe they would give her something. Back in her district, that's all she could really make was soup or stew. She looked at the tributes. "Would either of you have a metal water bottle?"
Seth looked at her before reaching into his pack and tossing her one of the water bottles he had grabbed. He also tossed her some jerky. "We got as much as we could but we will still have to hunt in a couple days,"
"Shh." Vanessa said, grabbing two daggers and standing up. She took a defensive stance and Seth did the same. A moment passed before he asked, "So...what are we doing this for?"
Vanessa smirked before saying, "I thought I saw someone watching us..."
Raine caught the jerky and water bottle. She put some snow in the bottle. She put the bottle over the fire with a stick. When Vanessa stood up with some daggers, Raine stared at her and looked around. Raine looked at the water bottle, the snow melted. Carefully, Raine pulled some leaves out from the tree she was sitting on. Then, broke a little bit of jerky and tossed in water bottle. Again, carefully, put the water bottle over the fire. While Seth and Vanessa were still in their defensive stance, Raine looked around in the trees.
Vanessa looked directly at a tree where she saw a shadow of someone hiding, and nodded towards the tree. Seth nodded in return and made his way over there. He then moved quickly as he could, surprising the tribute behind the tree and pulled him where everyone could see him. It was a boy that he heard the name of, Bray, but like Raine he had no idea what his district was. "Who are you?" Vanessa said, obviously not remembering him.
Seth raised a hand at her, telling her to calm down.
Kvinna saw the distinct, muscular figure of Garret, and the dark haired woman Romeo had taken as his ally. Breathing lightly, she skated quickly towards her love, trying to reposition what she held. Pulling up to short, she toppled over in a heap before scrambling to her feet again. "Sh-!" She almost swore before falling again. She was weak from her morning sickness, while she had gotten dressed for this COLD arena. "Come on daddy boy, help me." She hissed, holding out a hand.
Romeo glanced behind him before he entered more gracefully into the small cave. He grasped the obviously angry Jem by the waist, grinning foxily before laying one on her, gasping away after a moment. "Come on, we should go into the forest."

((Sorry I haven't gotten on :S The weather in my city has been horrid and my power has been cutting out for the past few days!!))Cosette waited during the countdown, her eyes squinted shut. She imagined this was all a bad dream and that she wasn't reaped to go to the hunger games. As soon as she heard the loud, echoing cannon, she sat down on her pedestal and took the blades off her skates before anybody could even think to come at her. She then ran as fast as she could into the woods.
The poor little boy with the brain impediment truly did not know what was going on. He just ran with the swiftness that he did when he was running from bullies at school. He ran into the wooded area. He ducked behind a thick tree to catch his breath. He heard a girl enter the woods shortly after he did. Bray's blue eye poked out from behind the tree and watched her silently.
Vanessa was shocked when the boy took off running without saying anything. "What the...?" she muttered."Leave him alone Ness." Seth said, sitting back down.
Vanessa also sat down but said, "We shouldn't stay here too long. He might have the Careers as friends."
Raine walked to Seth and Vanessa. "I doubt it. He's the little disabled boy from District 8," Raine said. Careers wouldn't want him unless they are signing up for cuteness. Raine had heard the little boy's story. She hoped he would live just a bit longer than her. "We should pack up though. Just in case."
Vanessa and Seth nodded in agreement. Seth packed up the tarp and Vanessa made sure everything was packed up in a way as to make it easier to carry. Seth pushed snow over the fire, putting it out and hiding the trace of it. They both grabbed their bags and started climbing the trees again. Vanessa offered her hand to Raine to help her up into the tree.
Raine refused and climb up another tree. She was silent and quick. She climbed on branches to get to other trees.
Vanessa nodded and started following her, taking her own path through the trees, seth following her. They were both silent and unseen as possible in the shadows.
Raine reached the creek. She climbed down the tree carefully. Then ran to the creek. She felt more parched. Raine cupped some water in her numb hands
Cosette saw a little boy glaring at her from behind a tree. She recognized him as the disabled boy from 8. "I-it's okay. I won't hurt you" she stammered
Kvinna smirked and pushed hi away. "I threw up this morning and I'm a bit dizzy, but I'm feeling better. Now come on! We're too exposed here." She snatched Garret's right hand, scooped out her stuff, and skated quickly to the forest. She tugged off her skates and shoved them in her sweater. Sweat dripped down her forehead.
Romeo acted hurt as her hands caressed him, then scooped her up into his strong arms. A bruise was forming, but no blood had been shed. "Nice arm." He purred, dropped some stuff on her until he skated off to Kvinna and Garret a little more slowly. By the time he had set Jemina back down, Kvinna was taking her first step into the forest.

Ceale heard a familiar voice and came up behind Cosette with a grin. "Hello!" he said, the end a bit drawn out as he tripped and fell over a slippery leaf. He waved at Cosette and the boy behind the tree. "Happy Hunger Games?" he tried half-bitterly, half awed.
Eliza jumped off her pedastal with a smile of feral joy. She had made it, at last. She went to the igloo substituting a cornucopia and grabbed a massive sword. She wondered why there was so little competition for the items. She tied a couple sweaters together and got a couple of everything, then dashed out to the forest.
Romeo tossed his woman a smirk, glancing behind them every so often, as he was the caboose. He thought about an alternate universe, where the hunger games had stopped, and they were still in their rooms... Shaking his head, he hurried to keep up.
(Their in the pine forest, their not skating anymore silly Kay) Kvinna breathed heavily as she trekked through the knee deep snow. She was the lightest of their new made group, and she wondered why. She couldn't break the snow as easily as someone like Romeo or Garret could.

Cosette jumped and whirled around when Ceale came up behind her. "You almost gave me heart attack" She says, her hand on her forehead
She gave him a quick hug.
"Happy isn't really the word I would use to describe it..." She said
Bray's bottom lip quivered. He didn't know much about these Games, but he was positive that seeing others kids was bad. When the other boy came up behind the pretty girl, he dropped to the ground in fear. He covered his ears and squeezed his eyes shut. He started humming a fervent, nervous song. He tried to block them out. Because, if he couldn't see or hear them, then they were not there!
((I want to like, adopt Bray, but I know that the characters that Kay and I have developed would not do that in a million years. The best I can do for him is avoid him. Lol.))
Cosette watched in confusion as the boy dropped to the ground. She looked around frantically, thinking somebody had maybe shot him with arrow or something. He then started humming. She looked at Ceale. "What should we do?" She asked
Vanessa lept down the tree as well but when she went to Raine she slapped the water out of her hands. "Don't trust water from a creek," She said before handing her a water bottle full of cold water to drink. All the water bottles they had were full.
Seth sighed. Before the end of the Games he vowed to himself that Vanessa was going to improve with her personality.
Raine grabbed the water bottle and drank from it. She glared at Vanessa. "I won't trust the water from a creek."
Kvinna stopped and shushed the group, closing her eyes and listening. After a moment, her eyes flickered open. "Do we want friends or food?" She murmured. To her right she could hear birds and small land mammals, but to her left she could hear wolves; though dangerous and risky, they could make great allies. She guessed there were about three wolves, quite a small pack. Probably a male and two females, separated from the rest of the pack. She explained this to the others, adding that the wolves would be wont to share their kills. As she spoke, her hand drew Garret's from his pocket to be fondled in hers.
Romeo looked perplexed. The wolves could kill, and not nessecarily their enemies. The mammals and birds would be tough to kill, but it would be tough to eat kills from wolves as well. "I think wolves." He said quietly, facing away from them, as he was still in the rear.

((Sorry I'm a little late guys but Im here :) ))Ambrose hears the gong sound and skids onto the ice. He feels ridiculous, with a pompom hat and pink tights. He doesn't throw the hat away immediately because it is warm and his leggings are his only means pf leg coverage. Ambrose skates warily for a little bit, kind of slipping and sliding his way to the Cornucopia. But with a mind like his he soon has his skater's feet. Ambrose slides into the east entrance of the Cornucopia and quickly grabs his things, a tent pack, and orange pack, two sweaters, a shovel, and a small tarp. Ambrose stumbles out of the Cornucopia, realizing he may have taken a bit much, but he would manage once he found a camp site. Indulging himself even more he grabs a pack of bandages, a vile of iodine for water purification, and a flashlight. Good, he had all the necessary supplies. Ambrose plunges off the ice and into the woods. He runs, losing a sweater in the trees on the way, hopefully there was one in the pack. Ambrose runs, occasionally catching glimpse of a pink pair of legs or an orange pack, but not seeing anyone directly. Ambrose runs along the edge of the wood, instead of going deep inwards. He finds a large rock at the foot of a pine tree and puts his stuff down. Ambrose knows he isn't exactly inconspicuous at the edge of the woods, but he needs to be able to watch the others to assess what's going on. Ambrose decided to go behind the rock and use it's large ridges as storage and lookout spots. He opens his tent pack and begins to build the tent. Within a few minutes he has the manual to memory and begins to build. Within 10 minutes he has it up. Instead of wasting time spacing everything out, Ambrose puts all of his things neatly into his tent and decides to scout out the area. Before climbing on top of the rock Ambrose drags his tent to the edge of the rock and throws his gray tarp over it, it still looked like a tent though. What to do. Ah, the trees. He had forgotten. Ambrose takes his shovel and batters the branches of the big pine tree, the weaker ones would fall immediately and bigger chunks would follow. Once he had a good pile of tree scraps and timber he goes to work. He fills the spaces between the rock and the tent with pine scraps and twigs. Eventually he steps out from under the tarp and admires his work. It's as if the tent were part of the rock. Almost like a small boulder resting at the side of it.
Ambrose sets off from his cleverly hidden site and comes to the top of the real rock. He can see through the trees some tributes still at the Cornucopia scrapping over equipment. Ambrose gives a small laugh as most of them still slide around. The upper districts may be a worry but they would probably be at the Cornucopia still, collecting swords, complete with matching bloody heads. Ambrose slides off the rock and runs under the tarp and into his tent. Ambrose lays out his packs and weapons and begins to organize. He opens up the orange pack, putting his food and water supply in one corner, his weapons in the corner closest to his sleeping bag, and his extra clothes and miscellaneous items in the other corner, leaving one corner at the front of the tent for him to crawl into with a weapon and surprise another tribute if they should get in. He felt strangely safe. Ambrose lies back in his sleeping bag and begins to fashion a stake out of a wide timber scrap using the edge of his shovel.
(just so you guys get a sense of his hideaway)
Kvinna paused, nodded, and headed in the direction of the wolves warily. "Okay, you guys fall back when I tell you to. I'll call you in when I'm ready." She said curtly. Her footsteps crunched softl as she moved lightly threw the less deep snow.
Romeo did as he was told, always checking behind them.

Bray stopped rocking for a moment and opened one beautiful eye, peeking at the man above him. He was saying words but Bray was still humming his little song and didn't listen. The girl was really pretty. He added some words to his little song, quiet and almost incomprehensible. "Scary man, pretty girl, singing Bray…"

"Kill him? Not in a million years..." She said, looking down at himShe giggles at the boy's song.
"So, Scary man, I think we should help him" She whispered into Ceales ear
Ceale grinned and whispered in her ear. "I second that motion. I think his name's Bray." he said, supressing his laughs. He glanced at the enormous sword in his hand and the multiple packs piled on his back. "I guess I might look sort of like a 'scary man', pretty girl." he said amusedly
Sharyl wrote: "...Walking back over to Raine Vanessa said, "Sorry for acting so rude."Raine nodded. "It's fine. not like manners matter here," Raine said the last part a bit sarcastically and took another sip of the bottle.
Bray looked up at them. Why were they laughing? Were they laughing at him? Really, he didn't mind, as long as they were happy. When kids would laugh at him in school, he would simply laugh along because he loved happiness. Little did he know that those bullies truly weren't happy, but being cruel.

The cameras showed the faces of all the tributes, squinting in at the bright white glare. Each child's eyes adjusted quickly, and they took in their surroundings in the one minute waiting time. In front of them is a circular skating rink, and behind them is a dark, snowy pine forest. The children stood in a circle around a gigantic igloo. It was fifty feet from each tribute. It was the Cornucopia. Just as it began to feel as if the silence would last forever “Let the game begins!” blares around the Arena and the Games are on.
The Arena
The entire arena is about fourteen miles around. The arena is half pine forest, half skating rink. It's shaped kind of like a donut; the pine forest represents the bread of the donut, and the skating rink is the hole in the middle.
There is small one creek of fresh water snaking around the pine forest. The creek has slight poisoning and without iodine it will knock you out for twenty minutes. The only other source of water is water bottles and rain. There are small land mammals like voles, mice, squirrels and such. There are also birds. There is also a plentiful amount of fish beneath the ice.
The Cornucopia
The Cornucopia is a large igloo with four entrances, one north, one south, one east and one west. Each entrance is the same height and high enough for even the tallest tribute to enter without needing to duck. Inside the Cornucopia there is an assortment of weapons and other things on shelves on the walls of the igloo. The lesser items are outside of the igloo.
A brief list of the items outside:
jerky, trail mix, dried berries, bread, twenty sturdy Water bottles, five viles of iodine, three flashlights, extra pairs of socks, bandages
A brief list of the items inside:
fire starters, five tent packs, fifteen sleeping bags, tarp, plenty of sweaters, daggers, seven bows with quivers, swords, axes, small bags of various poisons, shovels,
five fishing rods. Hung up inside are fifteen orange packs with the following items in each pack: one sweater, one pair of socks, one loaf of bread, one large wooden bowl and bandages.
Things to note:
•Only Gamemakers can introduce traps.
•Be a good sport. There is only a 1/24 chance that your character will live.
•No character is immortal.
•No god-modding please.
•Keep calm, have a cupcake, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
