Hey Doris. I'm all for hating Harry Potter, but I'm going to have to kill you for not liking Twilight and Percy JACKSON. LOL, jk, jk. Welcome to Goodreads!

Hey, I just realized something... (please don't take offense or anything!)

All the books you DON'T like are MY favorite books... heh. Well, except Fruits Basket and Unwind and The Faerie Path. Have you read any of those?

ⓘsⓐbεℓℓⓐ well you have a lot of friends already!

message 19: by Doris (new)

Doris Ainsley | 6 comments Hello everyone! It's lovely to meet you all. I'm sorry our taste in books tend to differ, but I believe we can put our differences aside and be great friends.
To Nightshade: I have never read Fruit Baskets or Unwind. However, I did try to read Faerie Path and found it to be utter rubbish.

Nightshade | 1289 comments Mod
Just so you know, it's Fruits Basket. Yeah, a lot of people mess it up ;)

I LOVE THE FAERIE PATH!!!!!!!! IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nightshade | 1289 comments Mod
And if you didn't like Twilight/Harry Potter/Percy JACKSON, then you might not like Unwind or Fruits Basket, but you never know...

message 22: by Doris (new)

Doris Ainsley | 6 comments Ahem, I beg to differ.

message 23: by Morris (new)

Morris Ainsley | 1 comments Hello there, comrades. I am Morris, Doris' brother. I agree wholeheartedly with her choices and you shouldn't criticize her on the choice of her favorite books because my mother says it's mean to criticize. However, I don't like Twilight, Perry Johnson (or whatever), Harry Potter, Unwind or Maximum Ride. However, I enjoyed A Tale of Two Cities, The Innocents Abroad and Oliver Twist.

To Nightshade: I have no idea what this Fruity Baskets thing is. Though if is manga-related, I find it ridiculous nonsense and its only property is black/white paper like images.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Morris, Doris, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. LEAVE NIGHTSHADE ALONE.

I will refrain from saying much as to try my best to keep my anger level down. That is all I will say about that.

Also, I've no problem with your book choices; I've just a spot of curiosity as to why you have those opinions on the books.

yesh, Nightshade, ezzactly.
you can't repeatedly say you think something is utter rubbish and never say why...o_O

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I tried asking once; They used a lot of big words...

yesh, that's what i meant.

message 38: by Nightshade, I feel like a bad mod. :( (new)

Nightshade | 1289 comments Mod
Hmm.... well, we'll just let them express their opinions before we make any assumptions.

Oh, my geometry teacher was talking about showing congruence and stuff, and then he said to never assume anything, because it makes a *donkey* out of U and ME! ;) I was like OHHHH I GET IT!!!! lol

message 41: by Silver (new)

Silver I was wondering, have you read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen? I really enjoyed that book, and am hoping to buy it one day so that I can read it over and over again. Also, I was wondering, are both or either of you homeschooled, e-schooled, cyberschooled, or unschooled? And if you are homeschooled, are you using the Thomas Jefferson method?

message 42: by Squiggles{Kelly}, Apparently it's because I'm not clever. (new)

whoa...Thomas Jefferson method...I can imagine...o_O

message 43: by Nightshade, I feel like a bad mod. :( (new)

Nightshade | 1289 comments Mod
Whoa, Rachel ;) Jk!

I really want to read Pride and Prejudice, and also Sense and Sensibility and Wuthering Heights, but I haven't read any of them yet :( Are they any good?

message 44: by Squiggles{Kelly}, Apparently it's because I'm not clever. (new)

Squiggles{Kelly} (squiggles) | 2481 comments Mod
Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility are very good. Wuthering Heights...not so much. But that's just me. :P

message 45: by Silver (new)

Silver If you are reading Pride and Prejudice and you are new to reading books that are so... descriptive, I highly reccomend watching the five-hour BBC film of Pride and Prejudice first.

I was reading Sense and Sensibility but I lost interest towards the end when the girls are just sitting around waiting for the gentlemen to ask them to marry them.

I am not doing the Thomas Jefferson method of homeschooling, but apparently it involves reading alot of the Classics.

message 46: by Squiggles{Kelly}, Apparently it's because I'm not clever. (new)

Squiggles{Kelly} (squiggles) | 2481 comments Mod
I concur, Rachel...I first tried reading P&P when i was about ten and I couldn't finish it until after I'd seen the movie...but i disagree about Sense and Sensibility. It isn't the easiest one to follow, but try Persuasion for boring. :P I am getting through it, and enjoying it, but its taken a while for me to get there...:D

message 47: by Squiggles{Kelly}, Apparently it's because I'm not clever. (new)

Squiggles{Kelly} (squiggles) | 2481 comments Mod
And as for the Thomas Jefferson method, I'm just thinking about how he set up his daughters lives...>.<

message 48: by Silver (new)

Silver I do not think Thomas Jefferson himself created that method, others created it an named it after him. But I may be incorrect.
