I just finished Waggoner's "Thou Art God" and really, really liked it! I enjoyed his use of language, and his genuine sympathy for the characters. There is real tenderness evoked when the protagonist heals the poor woman. I think it's interesting that he chose her, when I am sure everyone in the coffee shop had some terrible hurt inside or out.

If you had the power to heal, WHO would you heal first? Would people become afraid that your power would "run out" and begin fighting to be next, while there was still time?

I thought it was a profound, thought-provoking story, something I will ponder when I am in crowds, surely. And I'll wonder if I've forgotten something important.

It was cleanly told, and I very much enjoyed it! :)
