Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments Admit it!
We all have our least favourite books. Feel free to rant about the books you hate!

My story:
I have read some less than satifactory books! Although I am quite generous with rating books I just hate these!

About 2 years ago I started a series...
*Don't do it Chelsea!*

Deadly Little Secret (Touch, #1) by Laurie Faria Stolarz Deadly Little Lies (Touch, #2) by Laurie Faria Stolarz * Deadly Little Games (Touch, #3) by Laurie Faria Stolarz Deadly Little Voices (Touch, #4) by Laurie Faria Stolarz Deadly Little Lessons (Touch, #5) by Laurie Faria Stolarz

(This was when I just started reading YA)
It was a very sad day when I ran out of books to read. So I was desperate, little did I know... I took the book home and started reading.

And of course I hated them I had to push through them, to finish. Just, horrible. Little naive me did not have the heart to make it D.N.F. This was a long time ago so I can't remeber the details but it was creepy in a sick way (not what you might think) but it was really really creepy. There's this stalker ex boyfriend who tries to kill her, a mentally disturbed friend who sends her creepy messages - paints on her gate in red paint -- death threats etc. It might not sound that bad but for me it was. I've heard about people who like the books but the're definately not for me.

Anyways what about you guys?

Elizabeth | 2466 comments I though the first book was ok but I couldn't read the second I couldn't get into them

message 3: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra I get so sad when a book isn't what I had hoped it was. And even worse, when a book has everything that you could ever want, but it just wasn't putting all of the peaces together in an intreaguing way.
I'm reading Flirting with Boys and is running into that problem. I love cliche summer romances, but... there is just something missing. *sigh.

Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments The hype can really kill a book too!

Nikki Hoehne (nikkirajaramlol) | 315 comments Ugh I couldn't even finish Marked (House of Night, #1) by P.C. Cast

Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments I want to see what thoose books are like. I've heard some good reviews.

Simmaron (mybookedlife) | 1119 comments Seriously House of Night series are very boring. Zoe is a flirt, can't stick with a guy. I couldn't move forward to the third book. Boring and the series are also so long. I suppose there are around 10 books or something. Yekks!!

Elizabeth | 2466 comments the HON books drag really bad and the whole love triangle was blown out of the water she had three guys at one point in time the books could be chapters for all that is in the story

message 9: by Simmaron (new)

Simmaron (mybookedlife) | 1119 comments Yeah totally!!

message 10: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) I was actually into this series until there was just too much drama and too many books. I read seven of them.

Kate (kaitlins16) Bumped (Bumped, #1) by Megan McCafferty

This isn't one of my least favorites because it was boring, but because it angered me. It's one of the only books that I came nearly too fed up with it to finish it.

Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments Wow, I don't really know if I have every been angry or fed up with a book. Must be pretty bad was it the plot line or characters?

Gahhh the love triangle has put me off.

message 14: by Simmaron (new)

Simmaron (mybookedlife) | 1119 comments It was both plot and characters.
They have just stretched the books. And the lead character Zoe is kinda characterless. Lol

Elizabeth | 2466 comments I have the whole series it was one of the first series I read but I have had hidden since it came out and I can't read it so I'm guessing its sentimental that I have them but I have lots of people that borrow them and enjoy them

It had a lot of potential to be great, but I'm not one of those people who is bothered by the supposed "message to promote teenage pregnancy" that I had read in some people's reviews.

In all honesty, it was the super religious parts and the sister that came from a convent that bothered me. I'm a really non-religious person, so some parts became irritating, especially since (view spoiler).

Simmaron (mybookedlife) | 1119 comments Those who enjoy reading vampires, sure loves this series. Even it was the first book with Fallen that I bought in YA. But I wasn't able to buy more than two books! They are stretched I suppose maybe that's y!!

I'm not really religious at all - I don't go to church or pray or anything like that. Books that have a slight religious side to it don't bother me but if it does get preachy I can be put off a bit.

I hate it when an author streches a series. For example when a series should really be 3 books but the storyline is stretched out for say 7 books.

message 20: by Simmaron (new)

Simmaron (mybookedlife) | 1119 comments Exactly!! This is what happened with HON series

message 21: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) @Chelsea that's what half the book felt to me: preachy.

message 22: by Chelsea (last edited Feb 25, 2013 10:20PM) (new)

Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments Ouch. I don't really read that much Contemporary and I usually avoid topics to do with preachy 'stuff' or pregnancy or depression. They make me feel depressed.
Which would be quite a normal reaction but still...
