*sticks tongue out at Mal* Give him a chance! At least we don't have an old geezer in office! Which would you prefer?
I know that question was directed at Mal, but may I point out that I think Obama is a huge improvement on Pres. Bush.
Well, I'd like to hear your opinion on the Iraq war. Do you think we are doing the right thing by being there?
Lolz, I was like... Um... Kenzie...Ella, yes I do! I think it's about time somebody took some action. Even it is wrong being there, I think it's even worse pulling out right now. We have made progress, and I'm afraid things are going to go right back to the way they were once we're gone. Besides, we should finish what we started.
I have to agree with Mal on that one. We went in there, changed a bunch of stuff, and left a big mess. We can't just dump it on them and tell them to figure it out. That would be pretty much like undoing what little good we did them.
Well, I think that the time Obama has set for us to be out (7 months) is perfect. I think that the war had little purpose, and we are doing more harm by being there. There is also the fact that we have sent woman soldiers to a country where women are not even allowed to show their faces. It is a bit of an insult to their culture, no matter how much we disagree with their principles.
((I deleted your comments because they were wayyyyyy off topic. But I also opened a new group.))
Little Sparrow wrote: "Personally, I have gotten just what I expected. I think that some democrats are dissapointed because they thought things would change so fast. I personally am happy with him."He can't changes things right when he got into office. It'll take some time.
Little Sparrow wrote: "Well, I'd like to hear your opinion on the Iraq war. Do you think we are doing the right thing by being there?"I don't know. The Iraq war.....why did they even start it? It's been going on for a few years. I don't know why they're fighting.
Instead of catching the guy(I know who he is, but my parents told me it's not so good to mention the name) who was the reason for the world trade center to break down, we started the war.
I think it 'sounds logical'. In fact, I hadn't realized it before, but a lot of those things are very true! Like I virtually know nothing about Obama. I'd never realized it before, but I don't.
I, personally, have a lot of faith in Obama. He's a smart man, and even if he doesn't bring about all of the change he promised, I don't think he will screw things up too badly.
I think EVERYONE needs to take a chill pill and let him work. Not just Democrats and not just Republicans, BOTH PARTIES! he has only been in this job for what, 6 months? I stick closly to my philosophy of "everything must get worse before it gets better" when you clean your room, does it get clean right away, or do you have to messy things up first then you throw stuff out and it looks super pretty *looks at pitiful room* (mine is a mess.). My Republican aunt, nothing against republicans one of my best friends is while i am a democrat, i told her this and she told me that it wouldn't apply to someone in debt. I DISAGREE!!! A person in debt gets deeper and deeper until they do something to get out then they gradually get better. That person has to take things into their own hands though. Obama is trying and i think we should give him a chance. Thank you very much...
I think you need to take your own advice, and chill, Sage. I don't understand your 'room' theory - what does that have to do with anything? And the debt theory - in fact, I'm not sure of what you're trying to say at all!
*Sigh* I was just getting that out. i couldn't sum that up in a few words sorry. What my room theory is is that, Some people think he is just getting us more and more into debt, that may be true, i have had yet to look up all the facts yet but anyways, things are going to get worse before they can get better. The room thing was an example... i do really need to clean my room though... *looks at messy room again*... does that help any?
Sure...? But, you're saying... in order to get out of debt, we must first get deeper in debt? Why?Lolz, I need to clean my room too. It's getting to the point where I can't get to my closet. But, I'm lazy, and it's summertime...
I'm not saying you have to... i'm just saying that sometimes it takes the person getting really far into debt before they try to change it. I know that isn't the case with all but some. And it was just an example. and i haven't cleaned my closet in years... that is all i will say on the room subject. *puts hands over mouth*
So I don't know very much about Obama, so feel free to say I'm wrong, but here's what I'm thinking:You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a
government controlled one.
---
Is our health care system working?
You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.
---
When did this happen?
You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both
omnipotent and omniscient.
---
How can you prove that he believes that???
You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on
our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.
---
Wouldn't that be better for the environment?
I don't really like Obama. It's scary with some of the stuff that he's doing like healthcare and the FOCA act because it's affecting doctors and tons more. Some of the war stuff he's doing seems wrong.
to silverotter: i'm not sure i understand your post... do you agree or disagree with obama? the one with the windmills is good, because it helps the environment. why should that scare you? i don't know what any of the other stuff is though........ i don't think he is always blaming others either....
I have to disagree with him on the windmill thing though, I believe we should be using solar power, since most windmills are currently killing lots of birds. However, I would support wind energy if the design of common windmills were changed so less birds were harmed. I know the number is very small to the number of birds killed by cars, but I still find their deaths very unneccessary.
lol. we weren't really allowed to talk about politics openly in most classes... especially not speech...
