Tiffany Ortega Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson
I thought this book was very imagination provoking. The whole book is about how a child used his imagination to make a world of his own. This book presents the fact that children's capabilities are endless. The drawing in this picture book was fantastic since it was done in the mind of what a child would actually draw. I enjoyed the book very much.
The Tale of Benjamin Bunny by Beatrix Potter
This book is about a bunny who is just trying to get home but falls into so e trouble. The story is very interesting. It talks about real life, like how Mrs. Rabbit was a widow. This book although it may be a picture book is very complex. Children would have to be at about the fourth grade level to fully understand everything in the book. The book also displays discipline from parents, therefore connecting this book to the real life of a child.
The Belly Book by Joe Harris
This book is very educational for children. It could be a great way for children to learn about their bodies. IT also has tips onto what children should and should not eat, which is very important these days. It also shows that outcomes of eating too much junk food. The book is rhyming so it will help children to remember the tips on how to eat healthy for a good belly. The pictures are also great to get childrens attention since there are so many different types of bellies in the book it catches the attention of the reader.
