I love Dickens!!! I'm reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe this week. It's the book my daughter picked for us to read and talk about and she's almost done with it. I've never read it before so I'm it should be fun!
I'm reading The All-of-a-Kind Family with the kids this week and picking up Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison for myself.
Ah, good, I can comply this week! :-) I'm continuing reading
Martin ChuzzlewitI've also started
To the Lighthouse When I read Woolf in my twenties, I didn't really enjoy her storylines. In fact, I generally do not prefer authors from this era as I find them experimental, morose and at times sensational. So I was very surprised to find myself absolutely loving this book. It is so poetic and the structure is so creative. It is really a treasure!
I read To The Lighthouse a couple years back. I don't think I was have appreciated Woolf's writing way back when. Now that I'm in my 50's and reading more eclectically, actually enjoyed it.

I've re-read some books that I disliked as a young adult and found that I had more appreciation for them when I was older. Initially I think we learn to read for entertainment and it's only as we mature that we realize that the author is trying to communicate with the reader and has something important to say.
However, two books that I have not tried again and feel that I will never like are The Catcher in the Rye and The Great Gatsby. Does anyone else have any books that they feel they will never like?
