Lilly sat on a stool, hunched over her work. The handgun of her suit had begun to peel off and she couldn't stand it flapping around like that. The mess had been caused by a recent firefight, but it was a simple enough fix that she could have finished it in less than a few minutes. However, she was trying now to make a few extra adjustments. Her neck and back ached from bending over for so long, but she didn't care. After all, this was what she loved to do.
Brena cautiously walked into the lab room. She remembered her father's warnings about not messing around with other people's stuff. As if she was going to ruin it. No, she wasn't.
Lilly looked up, hearing footsteps break into her concentration. She bit her lip to keep from saying something sassy; Think you're alone in here? Some of us are trying to work! she kept the thoughts to herself. She should see who it was and what they wanted before she let out a string of annoyed phrases. Her eyes met Brena's across the room and she nodded politely to her, but did not smile.
'Kisha was right. Everyone hates ex-villains. Especially when our fathers were once villains. Now heroes.' Brena thought as she remembered Loki and Bucky were talking about all those dangerous Avengers.
Lilly frowned as she saw the look of hurt on the girl's face. She hadn't meant to hurt her feelings or whatever...just to see what she was doing. As she studied her face, Lilly realized she'd never seen this girl before. Was she new? Or did Lilly really just not get out of the lab often enough."What's your name?" she asked, trying to smile, though it ended up in a little bit of a failure.
"Brena Barnes." Brena replied softy.
Lilly straightened her posture a bit. The name had no particular meaning to her, as she wasn't too familiar with Avengers villians and other deals as such. "Lilly Stark." she replied, this time the smile on her face succeeding along with a glimmer in her brown eyes.
"I've heard about Tony Stark having a family. Kisha told me a little details about it." Brena said kindly.
Lilly blinked, slightly confused. "Kisha?" she asked, not knowing who that was, though she figured it was likely a friend of Brena's.
"Loki's daughter. No worries. There's no mischief around. Since my father, Bucky, has been keeping Loki busy." Brena replied honestly.
Lilly thought for a moment. Bucky...that was Cap's friend, right? She couldn't be sure, as she wasn't completely caught up on her history, she could just never be bothered with her studies. "That's nice," she replied thoughtfully. "That a daughter of someone like Loki can be on our side," she paused for a moment, then continued slightly nervous. "She is on our side, right?"
"Yes, Since her father became a superhero in 2013." Brena replied.
Lilly blushed, her cheeks turning a bright pink color. "Right...I, er, knew that." she replied sheepishly.
"It's been a few days since I've been here with my friend." Brena replied.
Lily set her suit down at a table he had 'claimed' when she was first hear, she then grabbed a different, identical suit and walked out.
"Awesome, I'm glad." Lilly smiled, waving to her adopted sister as she entered and left the lab. She smiled back to Brena. "Do you have any questions about SHIELD?" she asked. She figured it would be a good idea to make friends with Brena, as she likely didn't have many friends yet since she was new.
"I don't have any questions yet so far." Brena replied.
Lilly pursed her lips awkwardly. "Alright then..." she tinkered a moment with the metal on her desk.
Opal ran in and pulled chains from her backpack. She wrapped the chains around the door and locked them in place. She hoped that no one else was in there. She ran over to a nearby computer and quickly put in her USB. She immediately started hacking, fingers flying over the keys. Code flashed onto the screen and the tiny fourteen year old cursed. She hit the first firewall. She quickly got past it, surprised that it was so easy to break through. She downloaded all the files to her USB and tapped her fingers on the table nervously. What if someone caught her? What if they kicked her out? What if they called her dad? What if- it was done! She quickly pulled out her USB and covered her tracks. She ran back over to the door when she heard footsteps behind her. Dammit, she was caught.
((Thats alright))Alakai was in the back of the room, working on fixing his helmet. He glanced up when he heard someone qalk in. He quietlysit the helmet down and hovered off the floor that way he wouldnt make any noises. He moved closer and hid behind stuff. He watched as the girl chained the doors shut and then go to the computer. When she was finished and walked towards the door, he landed on the ground and walked rowards her. "What are you doing?" He asked.
She turned around quickly, slipping the USB in her back pocket. "Nothing. I noticed that someone chained the doors and I was planning on taking them off," she smoothly lied. "I'm Opal Iero, by the way." She held out a hand to shake, changing the subject. "Who are you exactly?"
Alakai eyed her carefully. He knew she was lying to him. "Alakai Rider." He said and shook her hand. He walked back and grabbed his helmet before stand in in front of her again. "I saw you by the way. Why'd you hack into the computer."
She froze and rubbed her arm. Opal looked down at her feet. Someone was paying her, of course, but she wouldn't say that. "I do it for the same reason that you breath. It's necessary for my existence." She looked up with a small smirk.
"Is it now?" He said and sat down on one of the stools. He set the helmet down and crossed his arms. "So if you didnt do what you just did, you'll die?" Anyone could tell that Alakai tended to be a very curious person.
"Not literally, but yes, in a way." She nodded and pushed some hair out of her eyes. She looked at him helmet. "Can I take a look at that?" Opal asked, raising an eyebrow.
"You're not going to steal it are you? Because currently its my only one." He told her and handed it to her. He watched her carefully as she took his helmet.
(( http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f9/...Looks like this except instead of yellow its blue and the red is black))
She scanned it, turning it over in her hands. "Is there any mechanical devises in it?" Opal asked, looking back up at him. "Or is it just a plain old helmet?"
"Its just a plain helmet. " he said with a shrug. "I need to make some modifications. I want to add stuff to it, just don't know what yet. "
"Can I trust you?" He asked her, standing up. He ran a hand through his hair and looked down at her. "Because if i cant trust you. Im not letting mess with my helmet."
He didnt say anything at first then nodded. "Okay fine. You can help. But if you ruin, you get help me make another one. And its a lot harder to make then you think it would be." He said and took the helmet.
"Yes!" She raised her arms in victory and then took the chains off the door. "Although I recommend coming somewhere else with me before authorities get here."
"Just letting you know if they do, im totally bailing on you and if they ask ill tell them what I saw." He shrugged casually. "Maybe. Depends on hiw im feel in." He watched her take the chains off.
