Rachel I've gotten a really slow start to this challenge and had planned to have read so much more by now, but I had family visiting and graduations to go to and . . . you know how it is ;).

Okay, Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie :
I first bought this book because one of my students said she wanted to read it together, but she changed her mind and here I was with this book. But I figured everyone else seems to love it, so why not right?
I bought it five months ago at a lovely little independent bookstore and it has sat on my TBR shelf ever since.
It only gets 3 out of 5 stars because I was less than impressed, but am intrigued enough to read on with the hope that the story will grab me eventually.

Rachel Apollyon (Covenant, #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I bought the entire Covenant series together based on a hunch that I would like them. Good thing for me, I was right.
I got them five months ago at the same lovely little independent bookstore I love going to, the one where many of the cashiers know me by name ;).
I'm giving this 4 out of 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone who likes a strong heroine, strong both physically and emotionally.

Rachel Dearest (Woodcutter Sisters, #3) by Alethea Kontis
One fateful day, I want to say it was two years ago now, my daughter and I were at our favorite little independent bookstore in town when we chanced upon the book Enchanted. We read the first page, we were intrigued, and we bought it. Since that time, we have a standing order for each new installment of the Woodcutter Sisters series. The second the new one hits the shelves, we go in and buy it.
This gets 5 out of 5 stars like all the other books in this series. Ms. Kontis has taken fairy tales and rewoven them into funny, adventurous, romantic, sad, and uplifting stories for all to read.

Rachel Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie
I bought this book through PaperbackSwap a couple of weeks ago, which is a wonderful site for getting books really cheaply, if anyone is interested.
I got this book because I read the first one and was hoping that the second might be better.
This gets a reluctant 3 out of 5 stars from me. I am decidedly not impressed with the characters, and the storyline barely advanced at all in this second book of the trilogy.

Rachel The Hound of the Baskervilles (Sherlock Holmes, #5) by Arthur Conan Doyle
I bought this book a couple of weeks ago with my daughter. Every summer, as is true of most schoolchildren, my daughter has a summer reading list to complete. Two of the books were chosen by the English teacher, and the third had to be chosen by the students from a list. My daughter chose this one and we decided to read it together.
This gets an enthusiastic 4 out of 5 stars.
It was really enjoyable and quite funny, especially when you factor in the supremely British vanity of Holmes ;).

I read this at the end of last year. It was my first Sherlock Holmes, and I really enjoyed it much more than I thought I would!

Rachel Reached (Matched, #3) by Ally Condie
I had this one on my iPod as an audiobook from the library, just to finish out the trilogy.
Unfortunately, my hopes for this story were not met. I would not recommend it, even though everyone else seems to really like it.
This gets only 2 out of 5 stars.

Rachel Sentinel (Covenant, #5) by Jennifer L.

Rachel Memnoch the Devil (The Vampire Chronicles #5) by Anne Rice
I got this book through PaperbackSwap online. A great place to get gently used books for 49 cents each.
I got the entire Vampire Chronicles series this way because an old friend of mine gave me Prince Lestat and I needed to read up to that one.
This gets 5 out of 5 stars. This is a roller coaster ride of religious philosophy and controversy that I would recommend to anyone. (Kinda wish I had a book group to discuss this with 'cause there's just so much to talk about and debate!)

Rachel Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie
I bought this book for my daughter's summer reading assignment for school, and read it as her teacher recommended that parents read with their kids.
I bought it at one of my favorite independent booksellers in town.
This gets only 2 out of 5 stars. It was disappointing and wouldn't recommend it.

Rachel The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer
I bought this book ages ago, thinking that I would enjoy it as much as I enjoyed her Twilight series.
I did not!
I bought it at one of the independent bookstores in town.
This gets only 2 out of 5 stars. I spent much of my time yelling at the book as I was reading it.
(Which is kind of funny, actually!)

Rachel Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge
I bought this when it first came out. As a matter of fact, I had it reserved for it's publication date I was so excited about it.
I bought it at my favorite bookstore in town.
This gets only 3 out of 5 stars, and very reluctantly at that.

Rachel Wisdom's Kiss by Catherine Gilbert Murdock
I bought this book because one has to buy a book when their last name is in the title.
I got it at my favorite little independent bookstore.
This gets a very enthusiastic 5 out of 5 stars!!! If you haven't read it, read it!!

Rachel Low Red Moon by Ivy Devlin
I got this book through PaperbackSwap, an online site for trading used books.
I got it because it sounded good and I was in a werewolf/shapeshifter mood.
This gets a very reluctant 2 out of 5 stars from me. Don't bother with it.
