I know this will probably be the biggest topic! Everyone knows someone who needs to be healthy again!

(from Cancer to the Common Cold)

message 2: by Candace (last edited Mar 23, 2009 03:38PM) (new)

Candace (lifeguard) My grandmother is in the hospital. They're not sure what's wrong and are still running tests. It might be a stroke, but they're not sure. Please pray for healing, but most of all God's will.

Pray for the physical, but also the spiritual. She goes to church. But, going to church doesn't mean she has accepted Christ, as her Lord and saviour.

message 3: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments I will try to pray for your grandmother. I would love it if you could pray for my grandmother, who my dad does not believe is a real Christian. .... And my uncle who is not a Christian.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll pray for both of your relatives. :) I don't think ANY of my relations are saved...

message 5: by Candace (new)

Candace (lifeguard) Savannah, I'll be praying for you grandmother and uncle.
Alexandra, I know how it is to wonder about your relatives being saved. I live close to my dad's family and we get together often. But, whenever we get together I try to forget about their salvation. I'm to focused on myself that I don't even worry about their beliefs in God. One aunt and her children are catholic. The others go to a Methodist church, but go just to say they go. I pray to God to help me have a deeper burden for their salvation.

I don't want to sell heaven as a get out of hell free card, because it's more than that. So many people think they're saved because they said a prayer. But it's more than just saying a prayer. You have to truly believe that Jesus died a gruesome death for your sins.
I got way off the health subject.:) I should have put this under family.

message 6: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments I agree... My uncle, the one who I mentioned, has a ton of tattoos and he is really the only one like that in my family. I really do not know why my aunt married him. (I'm not blood related to him... My aunt(his wife) is my mom's sister.) I only see him once a year, but he still kinda scares me. It's not that he's mean or anything just kinda intimidating.

message 7: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (pirate_nanny) I'll be praying for you guys. I hope you and your families get better.

Just a side note: Because a someone has tattoos doesn't make them a non-Christian. I know that's probably not the only reason you said that, but my mom has tattoos and she is a very strong Christian. I even have a friend at church who's uncle (I think) is absolutely covered in tattoos, but he's also a Christian. (He used to be part of a circus, but he's not now.) In fact, he even wants to be a lawyer.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

As a ditto to Kate, one of my mentors is a pastor with a young wife and three little children. He used to be a punk rock star and even still has piercings, (though he's trying to let them close over again)

message 9: by Candace (last edited Mar 25, 2009 10:14AM) (new)

Candace (lifeguard) I don't think Savannah was trying to critize all the people that have tattoos and piercings. Yes, there are many strong christians that have tattoos. But, I think we can all agree that it's so easy to judge on the external. It's hard not to judge people by their outward appearance. I know many christians who are very conservative and a pride comes with this consevativeness. They have this 'Holier than thou' persona, since they wear skirts all the time then the people that don't. I do know people like that.

As christians we should not be so focused on what a person wears or does. But rather be focused on their beliefs and if they are doctrinly sound

message 10: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments I am not condemning people with tattoos. Please do not think that I am. The part about tattoos is that that part of him kinda scares me. I know Christians with tattoos and I have nothing against them or there tattoos. I am sorry if you miss understand me.

message 11: by Candace (new)

Candace (lifeguard) I don't miss understand you. I know Alexandra and Kate and trust me they're not angry with you. Things like this aren't worth getting mad about.

It's always harder to explain what you mean when you write than in person.

message 12: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments Definitely! I know you guys aren't mad at me me. I just do not want to be misunderstood. :D

message 13: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (pirate_nanny) :] I wasn't mad, I was simply clarifying on what you said.

And I agree with Candace, you have such a way with words. o-x Compared to me.. who like, can't articulate my thoughts... unless we're talking about writing. -shrugs- AH, WELL.

message 14: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments :)

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

I wasn't angry either, but this is one of the reasons my mom doesn't like communicating through the computer. Unless you put smiley faces up, no one can really tell if you're agreeing, or criticizing! O_o It gets confusing! :P

message 16: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments Agreed! :D

message 17: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments Also, a man at my church resently died from the human version of Mad Cow Disease. He and his wife used to be on the worship team at my church. Please pray for his family and the community at my church. He also has 4 boys under the age of ten. He was only diognosed with the disease about a week ago. :'(

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

I am praying Savannah

message 19: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments thank you... He also died on his son's birthday. :'( It is really sad, but He was a Christian so he is with Jesus right now. :)

message 20: by Candace (new)

Candace (lifeguard) My grandmother is doing well. I haven't seen her yet. She came to my brothers birthday, and everyone else thought she was like her old self. I was unable to see her because I was helping at a wedding. I'll see her tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to it.

Thank Y'all(the southern side of my mother is coming out in me.) for praying. :)

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I say ya'll all the time. It's easier to distinguish who I'm talking to. (I might have picked it up from my pastor's family. They're Southern)

message 22: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments I use "ya'll" all the time too. I have lived all my life in the south and have loved it!

message 23: by Candace (new)

Candace (lifeguard) My mother is a Cajun and I tend to pick up on her funny southern sayings. I don't think my mom has a heavy accent. But other northerners say I sound like her and have a little accent.

Savannah, I've never lived in the south like you. My mom came up here without the intention of staying, but got distracted by a farmer. I always say bugee instead of shopping cart and people up here have no idea what I'm saying. Southerners tend to be nicer too. No offense to any of you yankees after all I'm one too. :)

message 24: by Sam (new)

Sam | 4 comments I'll be praying for you all!

Heeeey, Northerners can be just as nice...up here, we're simply quieter than southerners. :P :D I love being a Northerner, and really I haven't come across many other Northerners who are not friendly or nice. Every time I say "Hello" or smile, I always get a positive response back. And I've noticed...driving into Boston or into Maine, alot more people will wave back to you, than people in Chicago. (Yes, I wave at random strangers. ;)) (And, no I'm not offended by your saying Southerners are nicer...just disagreeing a bit there. ;))

As for the "ya'll" thing...we say "you guys" up here. ;) Even if you're a girl. :D

message 25: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments I don't really have a southern accent, (from what other people say) and I have never really spent much time in the north. (Except for one weekend in Maine(no snow... it was during the summer :'( ) and a trip to New York. Besides that, I haven't been to the north... Unless you count London, but all the people have British accents there instead of Northern accents.) :)

message 26: by Sam (last edited Apr 02, 2009 04:37AM) (new)

Sam | 4 comments British accents are so cool! :D I've been told I have a Northern accent by my Southern friends, but I certainly don't have AS Northern as I could get. ;) I certainly don't have a Boston accent...I LOVE Boston accents, but I guess I live far enough outside of Boston not to have one. ;) My friends (down South) do make fun of how I say "water" though. ;)

message 27: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (pirate_nanny) I've been told before I sound Australian, which is weird. :] I can do a very good British accent... and besides that, no one has really commented on my accent. xD I'm good at changing my voice, I guess.

message 28: by Elizabeth (last edited Apr 02, 2009 08:50AM) (new)

Elizabeth (bessfedor) | 7 comments Hey, ya'll.(sorry to interrupt the discussion on accents!) But I have quite a list here. It would be a great comfort to me and my family if you would pray for them.

Family health stuff:
Aunt Naomi: thyroid problems, adrenal gland failure.
Aunt DD Drake: brain aneurysm, in a lot of pain.
(cousin) Debbie Dawn: possible breast cancer, arthritis: she's only 20.
Me: kind of a trifle, but the dentists say that if my mouth doesn't quit hurting I'm going to need like 4 root canals. I don't wanna go to the dentist again! So..pray for pain to cease.

(We say 'Ya'll' in our familiy all the time - PA located - because my Mom lived in Oklahoma for awhile when she was in college...and managed to pick up some of the lingo, which she passed on to her kids who have never been there!)

message 29: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 02, 2009 11:31AM) (new)

Elizabeth, everyone in our family is praying for you and your relatives! (I'm sorry about Debbie, didn't she just get married? Or am I confusing her for a different cousin? And also, is she one of the ones that we met at one of your Tea Parties, and then again at a Pemberly Ball?)

message 30: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments Wow! Sounds like your family needs heeling. I will pray for you and your family.

Has anyone ever watched KUNG FOO PANDA? well, I do a pretty good impersonation of Po's (the panda) dad (He's a duck). I've never tried to do an accent.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Prayer request: my little sister's been throwing up constantly for the past few hours. :(

message 33: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments that's sad!

I threw up yesterday, but I'm better now!

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Update on the throw-up thing. (just what you all wanted, right??)

My little sister is feeling better, but now my other sister and I both threw up this morning. Bleh...

message 35: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments :'( It is no fun to be sick... I always get a good book to read when I'm sick. I hope you get better!

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

I am already better! (it's one of those one day things) But my other sister hasn't stopped throwing up yet, and it's contagious so keep praying for the rest of our family! :)

message 37: by Sam (new)

Sam | 4 comments Aww, I'll definitely keep you guys in my prayers!

message 38: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments also... My dad just got the flu. Of course no one is fun to be around when they are sick, and he is really grumpy... latly, I've been wanting to have some of my Easter candy, but my dad is a health nut, and doesn't like me eating candy. But now that he's home sick, It is hard to find a time to eat it! (Ohh... and no I am not a candyaholic... Actually a Chocolataholic!)

message 39: by Candace (new)

Candace (lifeguard) I'm so glad your better Alexandra. Unfortuanetly I'm not to well. What started as a sore throat, has now escalated to not being able to talk.:( And you know how much I love to talk. I hope I'll ber better by Saturday. If not, then I'll see what it's like to actually listen to people instead of always babbling about nothing. As Abraham Lincoln said, "It's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool. Than to open it and remove all doubt." I'll take honest Abe's advice.

Savannah, I'm a icecreamaholic(if there is such a term or word).

message 40: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 16, 2009 08:02AM) (new)

Candace that is terrible news! If you can't talk, there goes half my fun for Saturday! :( I'll ask you how you've been and what's going on and are you excited about Worldview and you won't be able to chat with me. :(

message 41: by Abi (last edited Apr 30, 2009 12:50AM) (new)

Abi (abigailblocker) | 3 comments I have a runny nose right now that's getting worse and I've had it for like a day or two. I am extrememely tired since we are off from school and I've been stayig up a little too late : P so i guess it's not gonna help that I'm spending the night at my friend's house tonight...

message 42: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments That's too bad! I will pray for you!

message 43: by Abi (new)

Abi (abigailblocker) | 3 comments thanks! i feel a lot better now! : )

message 44: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments Good!!! And that was when I actually remembered to pray for you! (sometimes I forget some things...) :)

message 45: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments Prayer Request!!!!
My brother(Jack) is in the hospital because he might have appendicitis. My parents are at the hospital with him and are spending the night in a hotel near by. (My brother goes to boarding school that is 2 hours away from home.) Now I am at home with my older sister. Please pray for Jack and that he gets better soon. I am kinda worried but I know he is in good hands.

message 46: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (pirate_nanny) Ah, goodness! So much has happened since my last post.

Well, thankfully, my mom is out of the hospital and doing better; though she's still in constant pain.

However, I believe it was two weeks ago, my brother was out in some forest preserve with one of his friends and he saw a bridge ahead. He decided that he wanted to jump up and do a pull-up. First bad choice.
Apparently, his ring got caught on a hook or nail or something, so when he came down.. the ring didn't. This cause all of the skin to rip away from the hand up to the second knuckle.
For a few days, we weren't sure if he would actually be able to keep his finger or not, but things started to heal nicely.
Currently, he still has no feeling in the digit, but we are just glad that he's able to keep it!
Praise God, and please, pray that it will contrinue to heal and that he will regain feeling.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow Kate! Praise God for your mom feeling better and praise God your brother is able to keep his finger! :(

message 48: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments ohhhh yea! My brother Jack is fully healed and did not have appendicitis!

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

Yea Savannah!!

message 50: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 44 comments Yep! It turned out that it just was a viral infection in his abdomen. (I don't quite know what that means, I'm just quoting the doctor!)
