I am about 50 pages from the end and wow is this book good! I am really loving where the storyline is going with Vi
My BFF sent me a Kindle for Christmas, which I just got the end of last week, promptly purchased the Night Angel trilogy in ebook form and finished Shadow's Edge last night!!! WOW, WOW, WOW what an ending!!!! Just wondering where Weeks is going to go with the last book!?
Hey Mags, are we going to read "Perfect Shadow" too? It's the short story about Durzo Blint....
I really enjoyed Perfect Shadow. It really gives an interesting insight into Durzo and about the... system of immortality.
Maggie wrote: "wow, I cant beleive I hadnt even thought about that yet...we should!"It's only available in ebook format (another reason to get a Kindle!), and is only about 100 pages long! It would be a nice way to finish the series! :)
I was thinking about a little break for a month before we do another series, but a novella could fill the time slot and be a break both!
I like the way you think!! :)) Not sure what the schedule is for this series, BUT I'm starting the next book tonight because as always I need to know how it ends!!! :)
I just finished the book last night...well early this morning - I got to a point where I HAD to finish it. That was quite an ending. I'm liking the development of Vi. I like the sister too, and the way she struggles with the temptations of power and knowledge. I was also glad that Elene finally had a bit of a 'wake up to reality' moment towards the end.And what an ending! I woke up this morning quite worried about Kylar's bargain with the Wolf. I can't wait to read book 3!

I agree Suzanne! I have a feeling we will see more of the sister soon...

This might be a bit of s stupid question, but how did the book end?I've read the whole series and I loved it, but it was a while ago and I'm having trouble remembering the ending and with no book at hand I can't check either :(

Well there's POW! and KAPOW! And then blood and black goup and the God King drives a Ferarri into battle by remote that eats people and adds modifications out of flesh and bone and then Kyler SLICES the remote and Vi's like stab stab stab! and Kylar gets his arm stiuck in a ferali maw and it starts CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP and so he chops his own arm off and then (view spoiler)
Are we really waiting 2 weeks before starting book 3?
The favourite standout snap shop moment of this book was definitely the Nocta Hemata - The Night of Blood. The gray-haired crippled screaming his outrage and shaking his crutch into the night and the whole Warren answering and the lightning and dogs howling and blood filling the streets. Excellent imagery and atmosphere.

David, David, David....lol
Patience is a virtue and you have some DhG to read!
I am really curious about the wolf and how that process works

My review of this book is mostly a rant about the female characters. My impression is that the author is highly paternalistic with very conflicted feeling about any sort of sexuality. Now I looked and he is an athiest converted to Christianity according to one site and uses his faith in his writing. And that annoys me.If I ignore the moralizing and the poor character building (the only woman who doesn't seem to be primarily concerned with her sexuality and defined by her connections to men or lack thereof appears to be Sister Ariel. Vi... *sigh/groan*... she may be complicated, sorta, but everything about her is the men she is in love with or otherwise connected to or hates) then it really is a quite good book. The adventure and action are very well done and I want to read the ending, although I found this book less unpredictable than the first book. Despite my love for the action and his general writing, I don't think I will be able to pick up another Brent Weeks book after I finish this series if they are going to continue to include so many imbedded religious ideas and twisted morals. It isn't explicitly a religious screed, but it just sort of assumes the value of religion and the religious values.
Wow Matthew, way to shut the discussion down( there's probably a page 2 im missing that will embarass be but oh well) ... but you're so correct. Females are either virgins or sluts. No in between. This is, from an observational POV, a great series. Completely superficial yet enough cliff hangers to keep one reading. World building, awful. Character development, non existant. Excitement for finding out what happens next, sky high.
