For Ronan and his Dragon.

Ronan sat in the window seat, Nadia curled around his feet, her trail swinging softly. Ronan suveyed they room. The large four poster bed with the dark red coverlet and curtains around it, the large wardrobe on the other wall, the dressing screen, there was nothing to tell you it was his room at all. There never has been, it was just a room. He felt no need to personalize it. He didn't plan on staying long.

Emerson knocked on the door softly,waiting for an answer.Knowing that Ronan's maid wasn't available at the moment,she decided to see if he needed anything.She always wanted to help,even if people made it seem like the opposite."Y-your highness....M-may I be to any service for you?"she said in a soft,quiet voice.

"Do not fear me," Ronan called softly, not moving, "Come inside."

Ronan had often seen Emerson in the halfways, she was very beautiful, but he never really spoke with her, more often than not Aldrich was too busy abusing her. Something no one would, or could ever stop. He turned toward the door, wondering if she was even still there, or if she had heard him.

She walked in very quietly,not daring to take more than a steps worth in"I-I knew your maid was not here so I would like I know if you Need anything."she said as she bowed her head respectively and to hide the red mark on her cheek

Ronan's keen eyes picked up on the injury, but didn't say anything. He would speak to his father again later, but it was no use, no one could control Aldrich.

"No, I am well, but would you stay, talk to me?" Ronana asked her, indicating the space beside him, smiling a little. This girl interested him. She was so beautiful, yet so shy, so reserved.

She looked up at him at the first time"A-are you sure?"she asked him.Nobody but Scarlet had asked her to ever talk to them.Especially guys since the only one she had ever really spoken to was Aldrich,but even then he never really spoke to her.Her face was slightly pink since she was surprised that he had asked that in the first place.

"Don't seem so suprised, I need someone to inspire my terrible poetry, and every poet has their beautiful girl, do they not?" Ronan cocked his head to the side, his eyes sparkling. He reached to the floor where he had thrown down his notebook in frustration near an hour ago. Maybe she could spark something in him, something he could write about.

Dorien, looking for Johnny, scratched at the door.

Ronan stood and brushed past Emerson as he made his way to the door, Nadia flew from her perch to land on Ronan's shoulder. He reached up to stroke her head as he pulled the door open, seeing Dorien there.

"Why have you come here, where is Johnny?" Ronan asked the dragon, reaching out to scratch it's head, glancing over his shoulder at Emerson where she stood.

She laughed softly"I'm sorry,but I believe you have the wrong girl.Im not very close to beautiful your highness."she said with a slight smile.Her cheeks were slightly rosy,but she tried to conceal it.She walked over to where he sat and she sat down on the edge carefully.

Dorien shrugged. He gave Ronan a look that said, I can't find him.

Ronan said softly, looking to her. He smiled a little, he was right, he needed someone to write. He needed her to write. Just her presence was enough to inspire him.

"Dorien, Johnny didn't come here, he rarely does, if I had anything of value he's already snagged it. Why don't you see if Hektor knows where he would be?" Ronan suggested, looking to the dragon, then Emerson, then back to the dragon. "Would you mind keeping him away for awhile?"

Dorien flew out.

Emerson looked over at him" A-am I doing okay?"she said nervously.She had never done that before,so she was pretty confused on the whole situation.

"You're doing fine," Ronan said, settling next to her, looking at her hair as it shimmered in the sunlight shining in through the window. "Why do you let Aldrich hurt you like he does? It must take a toll on you. No woman should ever be treated as he treats you."

"He's royalty.I, as maid, do not have the ability to stop him or order him to stop.He does as he likes and I cannot do anything about it.Yes,it may hurt.But I prefer that he hit me than anybody else.I rather that I feel the pain then any other woman."she said softly as she looked down at her hands

Ronan reached out to gently set his hand over Emerson's, looking at her. She delt with this pain in silence, but why should she have to. She had rights, just like all the other women in this castle, why could she not be a princess. She was better suited for it than most of his sisters, Sienna didn't even want this, in fact, most days, neither did he.

"You are royalty too, maybe not to him, or to the others, but royalty does not flow in bloodlines. Royalty is beauty, and you are the essence of beauty, inner and outer," Ronan told her.

She blushed bright red when he did,and she didnt move it.She shook her head"please your highness,don't waist your kind words on me.the only people who have spoken to me kindly are you and Scarlet.

Ronan pulled his hand back, standing up, pacing. He wasn't sure how to procede, his feelings were troubling him. He had never felt romantically toward the girl, but there was something about her. He was a moth to flame, and right now this girl was his flame.

Emerson watched him pace,a bit confused."are you alright your highness?"she asked as she bowed her head again,seeing that he let go of her hand.

"Would you tell me something?" Ronan asked. "It says that if you marry aprince, you become a princess, what if you should marry a prince, no matter how short a time, then he would have no right to hurt you as he does, correct?"

"Well I believe so.Since I would be royalty,which I am not,I believe he would not be able to hit me under supervision."she said quietly

Ronan sighed in frustration, he had no feelings for the girl in that way, but maybe... just maybe. Ronan turned on a heel and left the room. unsure quite where he was going, but knowing what he had to do. Nadia stayed with Emerson, brushing up against her ina show of affection rare for Ronan's fierce little dragon. Now many lives would get interesting.

Emerson was very confused.She stood,and bowed her head"I'm sorry I inconvenienced you prince."she said quietly even though he was not there before leaving quietly,walking down the hall way,her shoes clicking against the polished marble floor.

Ronan ran back to his room, looking for Emerson, only to find her gone. He screamed in frustration, the maids, where were the maids! They would know where she is. He prayed that Aldrich wouldn't find her, not before he did.

She walked down the hall and turned the corner.She didnt intend on doing anything so she walked back to the servants chambers.

Ronan lifted the pen from the paper and looked around the room, wondering where Emerson was, if she was still okay, and more impotantly, what Aldrich was doing right now in regard to Emerson.

Aldrich stormed in without even knocking almost knocking the door off it's hinges.Yeah,he was pissed,and all the strength he had was going to be released."Where the hell is she?!"He screeched.On upon not finding her there he stormed out,looking to find her.
