Room filled with bunk beds for the rebels that stay on base.

Megan (nightrunner) Eponine was barely lucid by the time they got to the bunks. She was drifting in and out of sleep, totally unaware if she was awake or not. She looked up at will through her lashed. "He thought I was ugly didn't he?" she asked Will, probably the only one who understand what she was asking, understand who the he was that she was referring to. "That's why he picked her, isn't it? Because she was beautiful, and I was ugly."

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

((Aack! Sorry!))

"No, he picked her because he wouldn't take the time to look at you. He thought that she was his whole world. He picked her because he didn't see that you were the ultimate girl a guy could ever possibly dream of. A girl who is smart, beautiful, talented, and kind. That's why he picked her", William responded quietly. He laid her gently on on a bunk. He began to pull the blankets over her.

message 5: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Eponine reached out to grab his hand, her grip firm, though her eyes were almost closed. "Do you really think that?" she asked him, her voice weak as she drifted off. "Could you love me?" Her grip on his hand loosened as sleep finally overcame her body, so much so that she never would have been able to hear his answer.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

"Yes, I really think that", William said softly. As she drifted asleep, he answered her other question with a confident but quiet "Yes". He gripped her hand, even as hers grew limp in his.

message 7: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Eponine murmured in her sleep, her mind processing his answer slowly. She could feel his hand on hers still, it was a nice feeling, his skin was warm. Her was perpetually cold. It was like she had no body heat because she was so skinny.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

William knelt beside Eponine for a moment before getting up and kissing her gently. He whispered,"I always have, Eponine. Always" Then he left the bunks quietly, making sure not to disturb Eponine's much needed sleep.

message 9: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Eponine woke from a deep sleep when the sun finally found it's way to her pillow. By that time, it had to be about noon. She had slept half the day away already. She reached under her bed and pulled out her hair brush, starting to sleepily pull it through her tangled hair. She would have to go find William and Emma, apologize for last night, see if they had made any progress.

message 10: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) After changing and pulling her hair back into a messy bun. Eponine tossed on some eyeliner and moved out of the bunks, looking first to satisfy her rumbling stomach, hoping to find William. She wanted to talk to him. She blinked rapidly as she stepped out of the building, raising her hand to block the sun, looking around.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

William called,"Eponine!" He walked towards her, his fists hidden in his pockets. "Why?", he demanded, his gaze full of anger, sadness, and love.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

((Lol. Just blame it on Ink))

message 14: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Eponine nearly dropped her lunch at the sound of his voice, why was he mad at her? She bit her lip as she stood in the entrance of the bunks, looking back at him. "What, what did I do?" she asked in a small voice, her eyes moving down to the ground, swallowing hard.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

"Is there something I've done? Why did you volunteer? Eponine, why? And with Ink, for Pete's sake! Ink! Eponine, I've loved you since the first time I met you. You know now, and yet, it's like you're a weathervane! Is there something Ink has that I don't? A personality trait? Eponine, I swear, I will do anything for you, but obviously, it's not enough. It's never have been, has it?", William's voice becoming soft near the end.

message 16: by Megan (last edited Sep 07, 2013 07:38AM) (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Eponine fumbled, half of her lunch falling on the ground, she knelt down to pick it up. "I didn't mean too, I just..." she shook her head, "I don't like Ink, I never wanted to do this with him, but who the hell am I to tell him no? I'm supposed to be a leader, but everyone treats me like a child. Like I don't know what I'm talking about, what I'm feeling, but I do! Everyone doubts me, ignores me, and people wonder why I never speak up anymore, why I work myself senseless! I don't do anything right, and then the one time I think I have something I can count on it disappears. What do you want me to do?!?"

message 17: by Sadie (new)

Sadie ((aw shit.))

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

"I never ignored you. I never did that. You think I don't know how that feels like? I was stolen from my family, Eponine. People tried to seduce me with cool gadgets and high honours to forget them. The only family I had was my brother. And then he betrayed me. Then, I come home, and I'm looking forward to seeing my parents, and I find out that they've been dead for over a decade. No one listened to me when I asked Abrova officials if I was going home, no one asked me if I was starving when they kidnapped me. No one ever asked me why I was sad. My brother loved it, it was like our parents didn't even exist to him. And then I see you, and fall in love with you, but you don't show the same feelings. Instead, I find out that you're in love with my friend, and I have to settle with just being friends. When I do tell you, you say you love me, and then you volunteer to go on a mission that could leave you killed? You wonder why I don't want you to go? I can't lose you. You're the person I love most here. What happens if something goes wrong? Ink's great, but not even he is capable of everything. I don't want to lose you, not to anyone, Eponine", William said softly.

YOU LAZY INCONSIDERATE BRAT!

I hate William. -_-))

message 21: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Eponine felt tears flood her eyes, her back still to William as she stopped even trying to pick up the food, she just stood up and ran out the back door of the bunks, out of the rebel complex, she was faster than anyone though, and she knew places to hide where no one would ever find her, but that wasn't the point. She needed to get away, to lose herself. She was a sewer rat, a waste of space she always would be. What was the use in doing anything, she would go back to being no one, scrounge for scraps, live so far under the radar they would never find her again. Then she would stop hurting everyone, stop ruining everything.

message 22: by Simply (new)

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments He had waited.

One of the benefits of being Ink is that you were the kind of person who knew the hearts of the people you knew closely.

And there was the echoing and reverberation of angry voices coming from they bunks.

Ink knew that after Will pushed Eponine off a cliff, he would have to catch her, and push Emma back from the edge. "Eponine!" He yelled. His voice was going to be his only tool. Eponine was fast, and though he could endure anything, Ink knew that she would out run him and out smart him.

Ink began to go a little faster, falling behind her. He knew she was; making a run for it to disappear forever, and it was up to slick Ink to get her back before she slammed completely onto the ground, "Eponine I need you!" He yelled. Actually, he wanted to say 'I need to talk to you', but his exhausted brain only let so much out.

message 23: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Eponine stopped in her tracks, tears still streaming down her cheeks at Ink's voice calling after. Her knees shook, threatening to give out on her. Why, why would he follow her, where had he even been to see her trying to run. "Ink?" Eponine whispered, barely making a sound at all, she didn't trust her voice, not with the tears streaming down her face. "You shouldn't have followed me. I need to just go."

message 24: by Simply (new)

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments It took a few moments, but eventually Ink caught up with a pink face and pale lips. Lack of nutrition plus lack of energy divided by running equaled weak Ink. He caught up and hunched over, putting his hands on his knees.

"Can't.... leave." He breathed, regaining his breath, "We....I need you."

message 25: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Eponine shook her head, taking his arm and pulling him out of the street, pushing into an old abandoned restaurant and sitting him in a booth. It was almost totally dark inside, the only light coming in from cracks between the boards the obstructed the windows, she sat down across from him, curling in on herself, swallowing hard. "Why? You don't really need me, your just saying that so that I will go back there with you, but I don't want to go back, I don't want to go anywhere, I just want to disappear."

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

William felt like swearing. He was chasing after the girl he literally lived for. He spotted Ink talking with Eponine and hid behind a stack of crates within earshot. As he listened, he thought,"God, what was wrong with him? It was his brother's birthday today. Was that why he was so angry? No, it was jealousy. Jealous of everyone he knew. Jealous of his best friend, who got Eponine's love, jealous of Ink, who never said anything wrong, jealous of even Jim, who didn't have a care in the world. He could've just shut his stupid mouth and not yelled at Eponine, taking out his anger at her. He could have just thrown his knives at the yard. Jeez, what was wrong with him?"

message 27: by Simply (new)

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments Ink's gaze gave way into a calm atmosphere, fillinggbn the area around them with a cozy feeling. "Eponine." He said, sliding a hand over the dusty table for her to take, "I'm not here to take you back. I'm here because.... well. Because I can't see you live in misery any longer. You can't let William rattle your bones and play soccer with your heart. Emma has let him practically hold a sword in her heart, and he twists it whenever he pleases without actually realizing it."

Feeling a tightness in his throat, Ink 'eh hem'ed then continued, covering his shaking and spasming knee with his free hand. "The truth is, I need you to come back." He admitted, sucking his head slightly, "I couldn't last a day in there without you. Everyone William chose was there for a reason, and we're all needed."

Seeing that just talking wasn't going to get anywhere, he looked down at his long sleeved shirt, tearing vest and faded coat. It hurt him to think about what he needed to make her understand, more than ever in his chest than he had ever hurt below the belt. Truth be told, he had always loved the girl so much like him, but so different. William wasn't a bad man, but he had everyone who cared for him in a painful position. Emma most of all.

"Eponine. I'd like to show you where I work." He told her thoughtfully, running his thumb over his bottom lip. He had a plan to help her along, " Please? Let's take a walk."

message 28: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Eponine wasn't sure what to think as Ink started to speak, she kept her head down, not even seeing the hand he was offered, keeping her arms tightly wrapped around herself. She could hear the emotion in his words, though, could feel it. It made her heart ache though, it felt like someone had reached into her chest and was just plain old crushing it. She was shocked that Ink could even ease that, ever so slightly, but he did. He was calm, or at least more composed than she was, and she really needed someone with a level head about them at that moment. She saw the way his legs and knee jerked about and felt terrible, knowing she had caused it. She finally looked up at him, biting her lip harder, but still forcing herself to speak. "Emma deserves Will, she deserves so much more than what she has. I feel like I'm just being selfish with him," she murmured, not adding that she felt like the only reason she really loved will was his association with the boy she truly loved. She slipped her hand hesitantly into his as he offered to take her to the place where he worked. She had no clue where it was, but she felt like she owed him as much. She felt like somehow they matched on the inside.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

William kept quiet as he overheard their conversation. He leaned back against the crates for a moment, thinking. He got up quietly and left, never turning around. He was done with love. It had never worked in his life, and never would. William didn't care. He was over with his bloody life. It was getting so freakin' confusing and hard. What with Emma and Eponine, and then the rebellion, and just... Everything. He walked back to the bunks, locked the door, and began to write.

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments ((Fah! No! Emma still loves you William!))

Ink gave her a reassuring smile and tugged her closer to him, and led her out into the city....

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

((Could you have Emma come in? Or attempt to? Since the door is locked, it's probably the latter))

message 32: by Simply (new)

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments It had been longer than was needed for William to have dinner and get cooled off. Since no one seemed concerned or worried about William's whereabouts, naturally, she was. The lights were dark as she walked to the back of the men's bunks. William had his sown room, like how she had here's off the medical bay. It took several minutes of debate whether she should go in or not... it WAS the MEN'S bunks after all. But the fright of being caught jussrt standing in front of the door drove her inside.

She stood in front of his door and knocked timidly. "William?" She called, tugginggn on the tips of her fingers nervously, "W-w-we...well. I noticed that you w-were gone a while, and we, I, were - I mean was nervous. S-so I came to uh...check up on you."

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

William heard Emma. The only person who liked him. The person who he had taken for granted. He opened the door slightly. "Well that's nice Emma, I really appreciate it. But there won't be any need for you to worry anymore," he said quietly.

message 34: by Simply (new)

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments His choice of words made her feel like a pathetic, impatient, and desperate child. She felt like she had just shown him a piece of artwork that he looked straight through.

"O-oh. Well uh...I was... why not? I mean, I guess that's good, but why?" She asked, rocking from side to side. "Well, you know we have that mission, and I...we couldn't guide them. You're the smartest you know..."

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

"Emma. Come in here," William said, opening his door for her. On his desk was one envelope with one name on it. Emma. Inside, he had written something for her.

Emma,

Remember our kiss earlier this morning? I feel compelled to tell you that I enjoyed it, a lot more than I let on. All this time, I've brushed you off for a woman who's heart I've been chasing after for years. I'm sorry it took me so long to notice that the way I acted was unacceptable. If I had just noticed sooner how my actions to Eponine were affecting you in such a way, I wouldn't have done it. Especially since I've always known that she wouldn't love me the same way she loved another. If I could, I would go back and choose you. I really would. Life would have been simpler for everyone if I had not brushed you off in the way I've done so in the past. I would ask you to join me for dinner on Saturday, but I'm afraid the circumstances will not allow it.

Regards,
William

William's bunk was made, and all his clothes were neatly arranged in his closet. The only thing missing was in his hands.

His knife set.

message 36: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) ((So... You're awesome, come in here and watch me kill myself? o.o))

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

((Quite the opposite, in fact))

message 38: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) ((Come in her so I can kill you? O.O!!!))

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

((Psh. As if William would do that. Maybe. But no, not that. Something else))

message 40: by Simply (new)

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments Emma turned, a joyous expression on her face at first, then she met his eyes and her face fell into sadness and worry, "William?" She asked softly, taking several fast steps towards him, "What's wrong?"

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

"I'm resigning as leader of the Rebellion. I'm done with it. After today, it's just been too overwhelming. With Eponine and everything, I just don't think I could really work around here. I'm heading back to Abrova tomorrow to give myself up to that idiot Frey so he can get that bounty he was always hinting about in my ear when he came as a spy. I'll be executed probably by next week after they're done getting information about the Rebels, but on the bright side, I'll get to see my brother one last time before I die, even if he's a traitor. But there's one thing I still have to do, Emma," William said quietly.

message 42: by Simply (new)

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

Emma could hear her heart beating with distress in her ears, processing what he was telling her. Her tounge was tied, but her heart was trying to get her to move. Without her consent, her feet started forward.

" What?" She breathed, taking tiny, shaking, wobbling steps towards him.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

William stood up. He moved towards her with a trace of a smile. He embraced her, then leaned down and kissed her.

message 44: by Simply (new)

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments Her first instinct was to push him off, but instead she let him kiss her. She felt it in her toes and ears and legs - Oh! She felt it just everywhere!

Anxiously, she raised her hands up to his arms and held to his shoulders. Her toes lifted her up, and she gained a few inches while she kissed him back.

Bliss didn't even cover what she was feeling. Perhaps she had died in a shooting and was in a very strange heaven.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

William kissed her back, deepening the kiss slightly. He smiled inwardly. A delightful and warm feeling that made him crave more spread throughout him as his arms encircled her slender waist. Thoughts such as,"What if she's doing it out of pity?" passed through his brain, but he soon dismissed them, for once ignoring his brain and going with his heart.

message 46: by Simply (new)

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments Small, cool hands wandered up his arms, and wrapped around the back of his neck, bringing them almost as close as they could get. Thinking wasn't a function within reach at the moment, but blurry thought did seem illuminated and vaguely understandable. Why? was a question that kept coming up for instance.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

William pulled away slightly for breath. "Sorry", he murmured quietly. He kept his arms around her as he gazed into her eyes, seeing a vague reflection of himself.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

((Hello?))

message 49: by Simply (new)

Simply (ninjaofthekeyboard) | 236 comments Her head tilted slightly to her left and she gave him a look of concern. He seemed so...sure about how he felt now, yet he was so unsure about himself. He didn't seem to have any strength left in his eyes. It was just a flicker, a feeble heart beat.

By her own heart was singing in her ears, and she could feel the warmth that had come into her cheeks during the long awaited, and tender moment.

"Y-you haven't anything to be sorry for." she told him, trying to keep the wavering pattern n her voice still.

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

"Yes I do. I ignored you and treated you like someone who was my lackey rather than appreciate you for the person you really are. The person who is so strong and passionate about everything you do. I'm sorry, Emma. I truly am. All I do is ruin things," William said softly, cupping her face gently in his hands. One thing had to be righted before he left, and he wanted to make sure this was righted, wanted to make sure she never felt the way he had made her feel again.
