I love that you chose Kitty! In my Jane Austen lit class, we called her a "bonus sister." In most Jane Austen novels, there is one sister(two in P&P) who is introduced but doesn't add much to the story except to make the family larger or add a rare quip.

Oh, definitely. I loved it, but I love old British books like that. Once you get used to the writing style, it becomes easier to read. The opening quote is one of my favorites. In my opinion, if you understand the social constructs of the era, it makes the whole novel more enjoyable; however, it is a good book for someone looking to get into previctorian or Regency era books.

Personality: Blunt, rude and somewhat of an anti-hero, The Fortune Teller is independent and quick-witted, but also cynical and world-weary. She has a very low opinion of men in general (apart from her companion), since her experiences with them are mostly negative. She is very sharp to notice things and is very intelligent, as she originally wanted to go to Earth to study human life and has now grown to understand their body language. After years of experience since the Time War, she has grown to be paranoid to an extent about many things.
Appearance: In her current form she has thick auburn hair and pale blue eyes, a hunched posture and sharp features. She is quite skinny and tall and looks as though she is in her twenties, and dresses in jeans, a shirt and a tie, a very odd fashion for a girl who appears her age.

Relation to the Doctor: They met on Gallifrey when she was just a little girl even by human standards, and he helped her escape from the planet.
