Hi Gabi and welcome to our group! We're becoming more international every day. Will be very interesting to hear what's going on in in the garden in your part of the world.

Love your thread here and your lovely kitty looks just like my Miss Boo!!!How did you post the photo in the thread? (I can't remember how to do it lol!)
Hi Gabi, had great fun reading your post and I love your cat:) See what your saying about the french lavender - it does prefer almost being mistreated. Rocky, thin soil & dry conditions, as long as it's sunny seem to it happiest. I find the same with my Rosemary & Thyme. Such accomodating plants:)

Think Mediterranean where it's sunny and thin soils. It's always useful to know where a plant comes from. And by the way, if you prune lavender before the buds show, you might kill it. Just be brutal all summer long.
Very interesting Gabi.I hope your lymphoma is gone for good. My Mother had Non-Hodgkins (twice) and has the all clear this year. A difficult disease.
I'd love to visit OZ, it's always been on my list but at this point in life it seems unlikely in the extreme. The thought of 24 hours in an airplane is more than I can deal with.
I'm up at this ungodly hour watching CNN regarding the Texas explosion at the fertilizer plant. Unimaginable mess, my heart goes out to them. Makes one want to rush down and help, if that were possible and of any actual value.
Been a rough week on this side of the world. I hope the old superstition about bad things coming in threes is not true.
Gabi wrote: "Dobell House is the former home of the Late Sir William Dobell. He died there in May 1970. The local people formed a committee and bought the house from his estate and have been keeping the old joi..."Thanks for the pic and all the info. I love learning about what goes on in other cultures and parts of the world.
Gabi, with today being the Solstice and you're being in Australia, I labeled the new seasonal thread Summer/Winter 2013! --> http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1... Join us there if you'd like to post what's going on in your Down Under garden :-)
