Great job, Robyn! I updated you.I just finished Gone Girl too and was surprised how much I liked it. What'd you think?
I loved gone girl, if I could give half stars it would be a 4.5. I reserve 5 stars for books that really make me feel and remember them long after I read them. I will say gone girl surprised me, I was happily surprised when it wasn't as obvious as it seemed in the beginning.
my husband found a box of old toys and books. in it were the three scary stories to tell in the dark books by Alvin Schwartz. I LOVED these as a kid, excited to see if I still love them now. plus they will fit in the decade I was born. good ole 80s
Nice! I was born in the '80s too but never read those. Truthfully I didn't read much as a kid (except for school). Enjoy!

Deedee and Shelly, I updated you to 2. Nice job! How's everybody else doing? It's awfully quiet around here...;-)
Haha no problem! This is my first time leading a challenge so it was just making me self-conscious that there's so little activity :-) But probably everybody is just extra busy with the spring weather and whatnot.I'm in the middle of The Stand for one of my '80s reads...it's huge and intense!
Less than a week left! Stats are updated in post 36. Anybody (Americans, at least) planning to get reading time in over the long weekend?
Read a book from your favorite bands firs album: I have a favorite band in every genre, honestly I can not narrow it down... but I have finished Shanghai Girls which was published in the same decade as Vampire Weekend's debut album (which is fantastic by the way) so I am up to 2/4. A couple days left but I think I can still make it!
I have completed this challenge. I have read Children of the Night by Mercedes Lackey which was published in the 90s which was my decade of choice. I also read The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J. K. Rowling which was published in 2008 which is in the same decade as my favorite band, Maroon 5's debut album. Which gives me 2/2 for this challenge.

Awesome job, Heather & Shelly! You're the first finishers! In my endless wisdom, I was reading The Stand as part of the challenge as one of my '80s books. I just noticed yesterday that it was published in 1979. Oops. Not sure if I can squeeze in two '80s reads in the next 3 days!
