The Queen of Everything. Deb Caletti Awesome read! Makes you remember Jr. high and high school in living color.
My best MG read for April was
Diary of a Penguin-napper by Sally Harris
It was a fun story that provided some good laughs. Here's a link to my review.

I would have to agree, I really enjoyed the book too.
I'm not sure why I hadn't already read these, but I'm very glad I finally did. A bit like Indian in the Cupboard but the child (and others) participate in the adventure, so the themes are a little different. Also, I've now discovered that Winthrop writes for all ages and is worth reading no matter the subject. The Castle in the Attic The Battle for the Castle
I finally did some MG reading for fun again and I really enjoyed
Kat, Incorrigible It's a girl adventure book full of magic and adventure, and not too scary, for a spunky heroine. I found it to be exceptionally well written. There's a great review here that led me to this book: http://reads4tweens.com/kat-incorrigi...
I think it was a tie between Better Nate Than Ever and The View From Saturday. I gave each of them five stars, so I'm not sure if that means they tied or not. They were both quite enjoyable.
I enjoyed the fun spirit and adventure in
and also enjoyed the adventure and mystery in A Pirate, A Blockade Runner and a Cat (which for some reason won't come up in the search - sad face). I loved the Blockade Runner ghost.
was a very good book. It's been at our library forever and nobody had ever checked it out. It went on my bookmark of books to read during the summer for my 5th graders. Now it will get checked out!
The Crowfield Demon. This is a sequel to the Crowfield Curse. Great series for boys, fun and fast paced and just the perfect amount of creepy without being gory.
