Lilac (lilac_wales) | 8 comments Hello, I'm Lilac and I'm from the UK. Off the top of my head my favourite UK YA writer is Malorie Blackman. I also love J.K. Rowling, but I consider the Harry Potter books to be mostly kids' books (though anyone can read them of course).

Kayleigh Meade (kaz2988) | 1 comments Hi! I'm Kayleigh, from London, and I started blogging earlier this year about children's and YA books - it's called A World of Words. I generally read whatever takes my fancy, but I'm always interested in reading stuff by UK authors - I find it's slightly easier to connect with the book when the surroundings are more familiar :-).

Hi! I'm Lucy and I'm the moderator of this group. I created it because I'm trying to read a lot more UKYA because I think it's important that we support the authors and it's always nice to be a part of the community.

I run a YA book blog where I review books and write book-related discussions. The link is http://www.queenofcontemporary.blogsp...

message 24: by Lucy (new)

Lucy Courtenay (phraseandfable) Morning all. I'm also Lucy, I blog at www.phraseandfable.wordpress.com and I write books for assorted publishers. Nothing for YA - yet. That, however, is about to change... Think of me as I jump through Acquisition hoops and hope for good news in a few months' time. My favourite YA authors are Nancy Werlin, Jerry Spinelli and John Green. Not very UK, I know. I promise to try harder on that front now I'm moving into the genre!

I write reviews at Cora @ Tea Party Princess and I LOVE UKYA. It all started when I took part in the North East Teenage Book Awards as a student judge and I haven't stopped reading since. Yay for awesome books!

My favourite UKYA authors are Kevin Brooks, Melvin Burgess, Anne Cassidy, Celia Rees and Sarah Dalton. And probably lots more but that's all I can think of at the moment.
