Any gardeners out there?

I love it, but seem to only have luck with flowers, not much with edibles.

This year I will try to grow green beans, peas, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, and pumpkins. Oh, also wstermelon and potatoes.

It all sounds great but I literallly got maybe one box of food last year! However, being an occassional optimist I keep trying. I bought flowers bees like so am hoping getting some kind of pollinators in my (tiny) yard will help.

What about you all? Grow anything? Feel free to include pictures!

What, no gardeners in the group? :-P

Now that I'm in Seattle, all I can seem to grow is flowers, having a bit more trouble with the veggies! Fortunately the downstairs neighbors who get a little sun are willing to share, so I did get a few tasty tomotoes (about 2 lunches worth, though I could eat them every day!).

Finally, Tomatoes!

Katie Boyer (katieelaineboyer) | 3 comments I like to garden but don't have a yard. I grew some heirloom tomatoes this year on my front patio that came out nice.

I'm so jealous. Love tomatoes but just don't have the knack (or sunny yard) for them. Do you grow anything else on your patio?

I am trying to find more ways to grow vertically to save space/get sun. This year I put more plants on my fence. Still struggling with it though.

Yeah it isn't easy is it? I usually have 4 failures for every success.

Potatoes are so fun to grow! Unfortunately I completely killed mine this year (too little attention) but will give it another try this year.

I made mine go too thirsty. :-( Live and learn!

Chard was one of the things I was able to grow really well, although here in Seattle it is a little harder because of the abundance of slugs. I don't like to hurt anything so instead of killing them I either glue pennies on pots or put copper tape around them, keeps them away. Anyway I think you'll have plenty of success with that one.
