Y.A WRITERS! discussion

(I guess we can start with a plot, then we can introduce characters. Do you want to do a dystopian, si-fi, romance? )

((I'm with ya. ;) Hmmm... I know this might sound a bit weird but, this futuristic country's government begins genetically enhancing teens (based on a certain hormone or something). It could be for an army or something, I'm jus spit-balling ideas. :P ))

((Yes!! A group of them can find out, and have an uprising. The parents have been giving them the drugs since they were little, thinking it was good for them, and when they hit puberty the hormones activate whatever power/enhancement they have been given. They begin to work, but not very strong. For example, say the child has been assigned with laser vision, the first occurrences would be irritated eyes and a enhancement to their sight. There could even be a rivalry between the kids who want to be used by the government and the kids who don't want the powers.))

((Hmm, it can be a select few. Based on potential in a healthy baby. I say we have about 10-20 who want their powers, and 10-20 who don't. That might be too much but we don't have to put a spotlight on each one.))

((Okay. :) Great, so its just at random. Easy to remember... So how do you want to split this up? Do we want to evenly have characters who want the power and some who don't, or do you want to just keep the groups separated between us. I can do either. :) ))

Hair: dirty blonde and kinda wavy
Power: invisibility
Personality: kinda quite, but willing to stand up for what's right. Enjoys skateboarding in his free time.
He is against the power.

Personality: Very smart and outgoing. Always up for a chalenge or adrenaline rush. Quite a feminist. Enjoys reading when she can't play softball.
Power: strength. And her natural speed has been enhanced a bit. (Not like Baylee's)
She noticed her strength getting stronger and stronger as she began to hit more and more home runs.
She is against her unfair advantage/power and doesn't want to be the governments lab rat.

Age:16

Blonde hair, blue eyes, 5'6. Vey attractive, and she knows it. She's not a "dumb" blonde, but she's not super smart. She likes the attention, but se hates the awful rumors spread about her and guys at school. She's a gymnast, and she enjoys jogs.
Power: Speed/agility
She slowly realized it as se began getting ready faster, she could complete the track at school faster, and her 100 word essay was typed up fast.
She is against having the power because she hates being a freak.

Power: telekinesis and some mind control/reading
His stepdad has always been so abusive to his mom. He has become bitter and takes out his anger as the town bully. He first noticed his power when he could move a bubble where he wanted. It got stronger as he moved clothes, books, and much more.

Power: teleportation and some invisibility.
He's a jock. He plays baseball an runs track. The cheerleaders fawn all over him. He looks up to Ty and has known him since 5th grade. He was shocked when Ty became bitter but he has stayed friends with him. He looks up to Ty, but he's constantly in his shadow. He has sided with the government because he has a power like Ty, but he wants to be useful too.

(( We can do most of them as free for-all, unless you have a character in mind you really want to introduce. It will give us a chance to work on character development.))

Chase was having a nightmare, his wrists were aching. He wiped out on his board at nationals and he could tell they were broken. He was pulled out of his dream, realizing where the pain was coming from. "Wha-? What's going on he breathed, as he struggled against the straps of metal on his wrists.

Bay was free falling, again. She loved how she could revisit her favorite dream whenever she wanted. Most people would hate to free-fall, but it gave her a rush she could only imagine. This time though, she didn't dive into the water bellow gracefully, she belly-flopped. She hit the water with a forceful smack as her lungs heaved. She quickly shook herself awake, only to wake up to another bad dream. She was bound in a metal chair, in a large room. This should be fun.

Ty never really dreamed, but he was now. He and his mom were at Ben and Jerry's getting ice cream. Steven was nowhere to be found, and she looks happy. The dream was quickly interrupted by a high pitched scream.

Baylee had never been so scared in her life. She was restrained with tons of other teens around her. She didn't know where she was, what was going on, or why she was there. She let out a shrill scream, expecting the worst.

Marcus scanned the room for Ty. Not his mom, dad, or older sister Ash, he needed Ty. Ty would know what to do; he could get us all out of here. "Someone help me!" he shouted. Struggling only seemed to make the bonds grow tighter. He had dreamed last night, the first time in a long time, and look where it got him.

((Whoops!! Omg sorry, I was reading her name in the last chapter and totally just typed her name! (That's what I get for not proof reading. *Face slap*) Let me rephrase that...))

"Does anybody know what is going on?" Baylee asked annoyed. The room fell silent and everyone looked around. Why were they here anyway? Not a moment later, a voice boomed over an intercom.

Bay rolled her eyes at the Spanish girl across the room. "Why are we here?" she chimed in, addressing the voice. All the other kids chipped in with affirming "yeahs".

"Um, I'm Chase, I board," Chase added.

"I’m Bay, I play softball and run track," Bay continued.

The tension seemed to relax a bit, so Ty kept the chain going, "I'm Ty, ya’ll all should know me, and my bro Marcus."

"Some ones a bit cocky," Baylee shot back. Her experiences with jocks have never once been pleasant. It just helps if you shoot down their ego before their head blows up.

"Speak for yourself," Marcus replied. Gosh he hated blondes.

After returning an eye roll, Baylee huffed and said, "I'm Baylee." Apparently the jock had sidekick, oh joy.

"Guess everyone knows who I am thanks to you," Marcus said nodding his head towards Ty, "Now what?"

"Thanks for the history lesson," Ty replied, "Since you think you have the brains, how exactly do we get out of here?"

"Why would they even want us anyway, we haven't done anything wrong, have we?" Chase asked. Trying to defuse the sharp comment Ty had throne Jasmine's way.

(( I love the name! Great job! Last post of the night for me, will pick this up hopefully tomorrow. Sweet dreams ;) ))

Silence fell upon all of them. No one moved, no one spoke, even breathing seemed to cease for a moment. The secrets were out, and the government was in on it.

"So I'm not the only freak!?" Marcus yelped. It's was weird, but reassuring to know that he wasn't the only one who had one.

The man let out a small chuckle and then replied. "You are not freaks, you are the first generation of a breed we like to call The Supremes."

"Why not the lab rats? Cause that's basically what we are. You gave us untested drugs with no guarantee that we would live or that it would even work!" Bay shouted. She was fuming. How dare they!! Who do they think they are?

The man stood silent without anything to say.

Chase agreed with Bay and spoke up, "Why us? What makes us so special? Why would you want us to be this way anyways?"

Still the man said nothing.

The information given was sinking in. There were still so many questions swimming through all their minds, some spoken and some not.

"I thought everyone took the pill, my mom said we all need it to stay healthy," Baylee said. She was upset and confused all at the same time, she wanted this nightmare to be over.

"So are you just going to sit there with nothing to say??" Ty yelled. All eyes turned towards the man, itching for answers.

((IM BACKK!!*cue creepy music* I had some testing today, have some tomorrow too. So yea, here we go))

"So doc, why did you make us this way? What can you use a couple of teenagers with unnecessary powers?" Bay asked. She didn't feel good about this who situation.

"Unnecessary? Our powers are not unnecessary, trust me I know," Ty responded sharply.

"Getting revenge or getting something without a cost is selfish, not helpful," Baylee chimed in.

"Defending my mom from my abusive stepdad is useless!?" Ty shouted. The room fell silent. All eyes wondered towards Ty.

"To answer your question Bay, we made you this way so that you can contribute to society and model what abilities can help you do," Dr. Fitzherbert said. "You are all one of us now," he added.

"Us?" Chase choked out. That did not sound good at all.

"The government, of course. You all have stature and importance, you can change and save lives," He responded eagerly.

"So when do we start?" Marcus asked eagerly.

"Yea, and who am I paired with?" Ty added as he flashed his famous smirk.

((Hey, one question before I write, are we putting the good guys and bad guys together, like you did with Marcus and Alana? ))

Marcus was confused. Why is he paired with a girl? Why couldn't he be paired with a guy in training? I guess her good looks could make up for her annoyance and lack of strength.


"Next, Bay Cassidy and Baylee Graves," Doc continued. The two girls stared at each other, at least this time they were equally matched. Still Bay let out a groan. Anyone but her!

(LOL. Did not see that pair coming. 0_0 ))

Ty glanced at the young boy, defiantly a nerd. He was positive their IQs were not the same, which made him curious about his power. He would rather have a one of the hot girls, but the kid seemed nice enough.

"Chase Matthews and Jacqueline Griffins"

Chase let out a breath, he wasn't the most athletic so he was glad he was paired with a girl, the only guy he would have wanted would have been Tristan.

"That is all I suppose," Doc sighed. "Now there will be exercises so you can use the powers you have already discovered, correctly and efficiently. There will also be some exercises and tests we can use to find out what other minor powers you might have."

"So you don't know what power you have been making us take?" Chase asked confused.

"We know the base of your power, but there have been some minor powers that relate to it. Those develop on their own, they aren't in the pill." he replied.

"Lets get started! What's first?" Ty asked eagerly. Finally, he was able to exercise his power without hiding it.

"Well first, we will get you out of those chairs," Doc chuckled as he pressed a button on the remote. The bars unlocked and were lifted off their wrists.
