Missed you, Victoria! Glad your research is going well. What devilish news do you have for the DeVere series, I wonder?
Hi Amy!
This is Kail and Renee Mantle, the couple I have been staying with for the past two weeks. They are great people and the real deal! Kail is a 4th generation rancher and former rodeo saddle bronc rider. He also plays the guitar and writes authentic (and politically incorrect)cowboy poetry!

Cool! So glad you're having a good time. I'll bet it's amazing. What lucky folks to live such a wonderful life. Enjoy!

I never could have started this secondbook without Kail's behind the scene's rodeo insights. I'm just finishing chapter one that opens with a bull ride gone bad.

OMG! That's some way to start a book. How exciting! Can't wait to read. This series is going to be sooo cool and so different for you. *clapping hands*

Thanks so much Amy! I'm trying to give each book in this series a distinct theme but they are all still closely connected, kinda like the Devere series. I really hope readers will like it.

It's a life changing experience for this character. I think it's a really interesting story. I hope you will like it.

Here's a snippet from my contemporary cowboy romance series coming in 2014. Hope it gives you a good chuckle!

"C'mon, Shel," Nikki cajoled. "Let's not get into it again. It's Christmas Eve. I'd rather have egg nog than arguments."
Her sister softened. "Alright. I could go for a drink. You got anything good to spike it with? Or do I need to go back out and hit the package store?"
"I've got a bottle of Bacardi stashed."
"Had," Shelby said.
"You drank it?"
Shelby shrugged. "Mojitos go really good with Jerry Springer."
"I can't believe anyone with your I.Q. watches that crap!"
"It's highly entertaining…not to mention culturally enlightening."
Nikki shook her head. "Then I'd rather stay in the dark, thank you very much. C'mon. Let's get this pathetic tree inside and decorated, though with all my stuff packed up, I'm not sure what we'll even put on it."
Shelby grinned. "Don't worry. I bought a bunch of Christmas thongs on clearance."

Love the excerpt, Victoria. It certainly gave me a chuckle! Now I want to know exactly what design was on those thongs! LOL!

Hi Carol!
I love Shelby's character. LOL! She's very much a bad-girl but with a heart. I hope she eventually gets her own book.

I just wanted to drop a note since I've been offline a great deal for the past week. Iam still very much engrossed in my research in Montana and Wyoming. I've seen and learned so much from the wonderful folks I am staying with.
On a more personal note, I also got to visit the place where my father's ashes are scattered. (He passed away from lung cancer 5 years ago at age 68) He loved Montana and had planned to retire here so he has been very much on my mind.
As for my writing, I have finally begun Dirk's story which is book #2 in the series. My working title (always subject to change by publisher) is FOREVER A COWBOY. I hope to be able to share a snippet before long. I also MAY have some interesting news soon regarding the future of my Devere series.
