Wasabi I don't know, I felt like there something that was missing in this book. I didn't really connect as much with the characters in this one as I did in the first two. I really liked Lucas and Helen in starcrossed and even Dreamless. In this one it seemed like they just didn't have the same chemistry. I fell in love with star-crossed within the first couple of chapters. After waiting more than a year for goddess, I felt that it was a little lacking.

Darkphoenix i agree.. even i found it very hard to re-connect with the characters. I think part of that stems from the long wait for this book. and it didn't help that a friend of mine told me the end when i wasn't anywhere close to it. So i've put it aside for now. don't even feel like finishing it. :(

I agree, I am also quite disappointed with this third book. I had the impression that everything goes too fast and that the characters don't have the time to have real interactions and I think that Helen and Lucas's relationship is not as romantic and exciting than in the previous books.

Wasabi you guys are completely right, their relationship was nowhere as exciting in this one. Lucas and Helen spent all of dreamless and most of goddess thinking they were cousins. That's most of the series. I thought Helen would find out they weren't cousins at the beginning of goddess...but she didn't until literally the end.

Goshgirl I know what ye mean. I was a little disappointed with this book. I think it could've been better considering its the last in the trilogy. It was a good enough read but still... I hope that she writes a spin off series or something. That would be awesome. :)

Meredith I agree this book was just lacking. I loved star crossed and dreamless. I couldn't wait for goddess to come out. I rated the first two book with 5 stars on goodreads. Then when I was reading dreamless I was a little bored. This is the last book, it should have been amazing. The characters fell flat. Like the author rushed through this book. Some characters personalities weren't w
even the same. Like Hector's and he was my favorite. Very very disappointed in this book.

now that you mentioned it i geuss there was a little chemistry lacking but i loved goddess and i didn't find it that disappointing. also starcrossed and goddess are my favorite out of the series i didn't really like dreamless as much but it was still good :D

Nilum To be honest I don't think we should criticize Josephine because she really is a good author and without her we would never have had the star-crossed trilogy. She made most of the Greek myth up herself and I think we should all applaud her for that.

But I still agree with you I was a bit disappointed, but not with the whole book just the ending. I realised that she didn't really finish the book a small part of the book seemed like it was missing.(Sorry this next part might be a bit of a spoiler).A) we don't know if Daphne gets reunited with her love, Ajax b) we have no idea when Lucas will go back to the underworld to rule it as the lord c) also we don't know if the gods and goddess will return and if they do what will happen to Helens 'Family' d) will Ariadne ever get over Matt and what will she do about it, meaning will she fall in love again e) do the fates still rule and if they do will the whole 'cycle' start over again!!

When I finished reading I was crying happy tears because Lucas and Helen were in love again and I really, really love Lucas. But I was a bit frustrated when I realised that half my questions were not answered when I finished reading the book.

Wasabi short stories would definitely help...I really wanna know if Lucas really goes to rule the underworld or finds some loophole

Tyler Yeah, I felt disconnected from the characters and everything just felt... detached. The writing was much better, but.. *shrug* And some of the relationships felt forced, like Andy and Hector's, as well as Orion's and Cassandra's relationships. Everytime they came up, I felt myself get mad. I don't know why. Maybe because it was thrown in at the last minute...? Plus, I usually don't like it when everyone is paired off in a relationship.

Eh, I'm not afraid to criticize, though. I'm not criticizing Angelini as a person, but rather her work.

Susie I completely agree, the first book was the best then Dreamless was okay...and when I read Goddess it just seemed rushed.

i have to agree with everyone else's comments, there was definitely something missing with this last book! everyone was so excites, there was such a huge hype about the book and then it came out and it was just a let down. I especially thought the ending did not do the last two books justice. We had watched Helen and Lucas struggle and grow as individual people. New characters and relationships were bought in, for the ending to be rushed and unfinished in my opinion. I think things are left so wide open, and it did not finish this trilogy off at all!

Tina J I have to admit, I did expect......more, but I'm happy with the series and how Josephini ended it. ;-)

Vanathi i feel something missing too
but still the book rocked and i loved it

Markie Winters i felt as though there were a lot ( I MEAN A LOT ) of strings left untied and the story wasnt fully enclosed... is it only me ?

Georgia I agree massively with what you are saying-
when i read the first two i loved it and they big build up to everything was ruined in a way that made you feel like something was missing. Personally it didn't really play out as i thought and that what it was wasn't enough for the last book. The book was good but definitely something missing but unfortunately i cant put my finger on it.

Markie Winters yeah I know what you mean , it all seemed a bit too rushed almost as if the author her self couldn't wait to get it over with .. the overall construction was poor .. its a shame .

Wasabi I felt that whatever lucas and helen had in the first 2 books disappeared. I couldn't really feel the spark

Not really because criticising her work (which is hers up until the point when she publishes it does it become ours too) is like criticising her too!
