Nicholas Sparks Novels discussion

I have seen the notebook and a walk to remember so many times that at this point I dont want to read the book because I already know the story. BUT I know movies and books are different than movies so my question is "Is the notebook and a walk to remember books more or less similar to the movies and are the books still worth reading although Ive seen the movies so many times?"

I also got the same feeling when I watched first "The Notebook" and "A walk to Remember" before I read the books.

I can say that, both films are totally different from the books especially the last part/ending (no spoilers! haha)

For me:
The Notebook = book < movie
A walk to Remember = book > movie
