If you were casting the TWILIGHT movie what actor would you cast to play the lovely EDWARD?

ooh...that is hard...can it be a mix? maybe a mix of...well..thats even harder!!!! this is very confusing! i think he should be a blob!!!ya! a BLOB! because they cant find any actor that is good! i think that justin timberlake would be a TERRIBLE EDWARD...and yes, i no that its robert pattinson...and i no that they would never pick jt...just saying...sorry...pretty random...have u noticed im obsessed with "...'s"?...they are so totally cool!

I think acting skills will be the most important. Someone like the actor who played Mr.Darcy in Pride & Prejudice. I didn't think he was attractive at all to begin with, but he was so charming I found myself charmed.

I searched Stephanie Myer's website and there was actually a picture of Edward on there that was not so bad. I guess we will all see. I agree I really hope his personality is stunning because from the pics, his looks are not what I expected. I was a little dissappointed. I have what Edward should be in my mind and that was not it.

Have any of you see the Breaking Dawn videos on youtube with Gaspard Ulliel??? He is one hot Edward! But I think that Robert Pattenson will do a great job!

i think rob pattinson is a great choice- but if it were humanly possible, i think him & chace crawford mixed would be amazinggg.

I have to say, when I was first introduced to the books a month or so ago- I read the first one thinking "Man, this so amazing, I hope they NEVER make it into a movie because they just couldn't do it justice. There is no one in the world who could play Edward." A few days later when i learned a movie was already in the works and that Robert was to play Edward, I thought, "Hell YEAH!" They could not have chosen a better actor. He is not how I pictured Edward, but really, they don't come much hotter than that guy!

u kno, my friend had this whole "i'm in love with edward cullen!" phase. it was actually highly amusing (sorry maya!)

also my sister's friend had a phase like that too. for the first half of the year she walked around with "E. C." on her hand, and all the time my sister thought it stood for "extra credit" but it really stood for edward cullen!

anyways, lol i'll stop now.

Honestly, it would be a combintion of Jude Law, a younger Jude Law and in the looks department, Ryan Phillippe, but not his personality, at least off screan ;)

No one they could have chosen would have satisfied everyone. We all picture Edward differently. She gives him a few physical traits, but mostly she just talks about how beautiful he is and leaves it to your imagination. We all percieve beauty differntly.

Robert is not how I pictured Edward, but when I found out he was playing him, I screamed for joy! I think he'll be amazing!

I don't think anyone could actually fit as Edward- no one could be as beautiful- and I think that Robert is the wrong picture.

I AGREE THAT IS A HARD UESTION BUT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE EITHER ZAC EFRON, JOE JONAS OR NICK JONAS BUT I LIKE WHO ACTUALLY IS PLAYING EDWARD.

Ugh. Zac Efron? If Zac Efron played Edward, I would die. Or just not watch the movie.

no offense but the jonas brothers aren't what i think of when i picture edward...
... i imagine kindof a pointy face (but still extrememly hot) and red short spiky hair for some reason... isn't his hair like sandy or something?

His hair is "bronze- colored."

I so agree, he is built up to be so beautiful that I'm not sure the guy who is playing can match that, I don't like the way he is made up in that picture, however i always somewhat saw him as a orlando blum because he is also very pretty.

While I personally like Robert Pattison as Edward, it is interesting that my son agrees with you. Yesterday, he told me that Orlando Bloom would have been better, and I think I would agree... with that dark hair and fair skin. Orlando nearly sparkles anyway... :)

orlando bloom is, to say the least, exremely handsome. but not my image of edward.

i agree with Gunjari, i think they did a very good job choosing the actors. i love the edward.

i would've wanted Steven Strait to play Edward.... but i am totally kool with Robert doing the Edward part. Yeah but every time i pictured Edward Steven Strait came to mind. He just seems more like the Edward Stephenie wrote about!

and that's really the only complaints I have about the main characters. I didn't notice Jaspar or Emmett's characters but I know Emmett's character is all off from the description in the book. All the Cullens were blonde, except for Alice and Edward, right?

I think he's just too old. Stephenie's original pick for Edward, Henry Cavill (see my below post) was 24 and that's apparently too old.

I really don't like the guy casted as edward b/c I don't find him attractive at all in his real life pics. However, they did really good with make up/special effects to make him look sexy...though I still think they could've done better. I think Matthew Goode from chasing liberty whould've been a good cast.

The casting was pretty awesome for this, with the exception of Carlisle and Rosalie - Then again, I've never seen her act so it's still pretty hard to say. That gu whose playing Carlisle on the other hand...Ugh! I think Josh Holloway would have been a good choice.

I've seen the girl who's playing Rosalie act. She was in the movie Thirteen with Rachel Evan Wood as the bad girl. And she was in another movie called Mini's First Time and she was AGAIN playing a bad girl! She's not versatile and she does not carry blonde off very well.

Peter Facinelli (Carlisle) doesn't look good as a blonde either but at least he's a white guy playing a white guy's part. Nikki Reed is hispanic and she looks very hispanic to me which is why she does not work as Rosalie.

I'm happy with Robert Pattinson.I have my own mental image of Edward Cullen that I'm sticking to.My second choice would probably be Sebastian Stan from "The Covenant".Is he pretty enough?

Yes. I Alice looks like Rachel Leigh Cook! The facial expressions match.

He's pretty enough. That movie sucked but yeah, I think he could have worked.
