Are you already working on your next Dusk Gate book? I'm anxious to find out about Zander.

I'm not working on it in terms of actually getting words on paper, but I am mulling it over in my head. My big projects right now are Rumpelstiltskin's Daughter and the audiobook for Roots of Insight.

What are you dying to know about Zander? :)

Is he and Nay going to get together? Or is he going to get back to Bristlecone? Will a new gate be discovered? How is Owen explain his adventure and how does Zander's parents take it? Just lots of things to ponder! ;)

I can see him and Linnea possibly getting together eventually, although neither one of them is close to ready for that yet. :)

I'm not yet sure how Zander's parents take it. My guess is not well, and my guess is that Owen will just tell the straight-up truth to his own parents, but won't be asked to explain anything to Zander's. I'm not yet sure how (or IF) Megan and Jeff will be able to explain things to them.

There is a lot to ponder -- a lot of reasons I'm not ready to start writing book 7 yet.

Lots to ponder, for sure! Book 7 will be a treat. So get Rumpelstiltskin's Daughter finished! Want to read that one, too! Too much left undone if Zander just "disappears without an explanation. His mom will be frantic either way!

Oh yes, I completely agree! Especially since he had no way of knowing that he'll leave and never come back!

And I'd love for Zander and May to get together, but I know I will have to be patient, because like you said, they both need time adjusting to whatever they each have to go through at that moment!

How did you decide it was Ben that was going to die? I mean, why was it him and (can't believe I'm even writing this) one of the brothers in Eirentheos or so!? (I know, it's an awful question, but I had to ask)

It wasn't really a thing where I thought "someone must die" and picked Ben. It was more that the idea for Canes just sort of happened that way.

I knew from the beginning it was likely that Zander would end up staying in Eirentheos (although that part wasn't certain until about midway through), but I knew he was going to have to face a situation that forced him to make a choice that put someone else's needs in front of his -- and Ben just turned into that.

Also, there was the possibility of him and Linnea hovering around -- although that will take a lot of adjusting from both of them.

William did. His interview is coming, along with a special "missing" scene. I've been a little MIA the last couple of weeks, entertaining my out-of-town young cousin and working on the audiobook for Roots.
