I've added these to the poll since I only opened the poll today and we have 10 days to vote. Normally this wouldn't be practical, but hey, I'm in a good mood!

Chris Stanley (christinelstanley) | 922 comments Poll is up for vote so I'm not adding any further books to the nominations, however, if you want to post your ideas, I'll carry them forward to the next poll

Chris Stanley (christinelstanley) | 922 comments For the Mystery Theme element of our monthly picks, I read Cambridge Blue, by Alison Bruce, a new author to me, and on the whole the book was enjoyable.

I've lived close to Cambridge for around 25 years and know the city centre quite well, so this caught my eye. The story-telling itself was a bit muddled, but the plot was well thought out and the characterisation was good. We're introduced to a young and very competent detective, Gary Goodhew, who exasperates his DCI by his lack of following protocol. I warmed to his character straight away, and since this is the first in the series of "DC Gary Goodhew" books, was encouraged to look out more of the series. There appears to be 4 so far. I'm not sure I'd rush off to read the next one, but if I come across it, would be happy to spend a few hours with it and a cuppa on the sofa.
I gave Cambridge Blue 3 stars

Did anyone find anything good to read for our September Mystery theme.
